Sasuke hated sweets. He hated candy and Soda. He hated brownies, ice cream and cake. However, he hated chocolate chip cookies the most. His mother made him chocolate chip cookies, and hers were the only ones he ate. They just tasted better than any he could ever buy.

So when Sakura gave out chocolate chip cookies to their team, the twelve year old boy began to have an inner battle with himself. He knew he wasn't the nicest to Sakura, but to throw out cookies that she had spent time making for them? He wasn't at that point in his life to be that mean to her. So he reluctantly took a bite of the soft cookie, and as he chewed his throat closed up the way it does when you're trying not to cry. The cookies tasted like his mother's.

At the end of the day, he tapped Sakura on her shoulder. She turned around and smiled.

"Sakura, could you make me more of those cookies?" He mumbled quietly, Sakura almost missed it.

"Oh! Of course Sasuke-kun!" She grinned.

Sasuke nodded, once again mumbling a thank you before turning away and heading home.

Sakura grinned and ran home as well, happy with the fact that her crush enjoyed her cookies.

For the next few weeks, Sakura brought him cookies every morning, and every night Sasuke silently ate them as he reminded himself to be nicer to Sakura for giving him back a piece of something he'd lost.
