I decided to ditch school during lunch. It was close to lunch so I started to pack up my things. "Hey Li!" I heard my closest friend, Anne, call from behind me. "What are you doing?" Anne asked, walking up to me. "Nothing." I replied while still packing. "Doesn't look like you're doing nothing. Spill." I hesitated then rolled my eyes starting to talk. "I'm getting picked up early. By my cousin." I lied to Anne. I don't like lying to Anne but I didn't want her to tell.

I could tell Li was lying, but I decided to just roll with it. "A'ight. Which cousin?" She replied in less than a second. "You wouldn't know him." "What's his name?" I asked a little slowly. "Jack. Jack Welch." I knew him! Not really... "Oh. Well, I'm gonna head to lunch. See ya tomorrow." I said while walking towards the cafeteria doors.

"Oh. Well, I'm gonna head to lunch. See ya tomorrow." I heard Anne say while her voice slowly drifted off. I just kept packing. I looked at the last thing I had to pack. It was... a picture of me and Jack in 6th grade. I flipped it over and I noticed that the picture was taken a few months before Jack had moved. I geld back tears and put my backpack on. I headed to the doors and started to run to anywhere. I didn't care where I was going. Anywhere that wasn't school or home.

*Le time skip*

I arrived at a park after running for 20 minutes straight. I never run! I was proud of myself. I found a bench and sat down. From across the park I noticed someone with blonde hair and blue eyes. They reminded me of.. of Jack. No. It can't be him! He moved to California! Why would he be back in Wisconsin? I thought. The guy who looks like Jack looked at me and his eyes widened. He stared to jog over to me. What is he doing? I thought. I don't even know him. Or do I..? It can't be him though. "LI!!!" The blonde guy yelled as he broke into a sprint in a straight line to the bench I was sitting on. "Jack?"
