I wake up and open my eyes slowly due to the infamous alarm clock that is the bane of my existance , I turn around on the bed and I lazily slam my arm against it in the hope of silencing it. I proceed to rub my eyes like I did not want to believe it was morning already , well , judging by how tired I felt i could have sworn it was 1 or 2 Am only.
I stand up , I take a shower , put on some clothes and then I head off to the kitchen to eat some cereal , as soon as I start pouring the cereal I recieve a text. I finished pouring the cereal and then looked at the text message.
The text message was from Sasha , a girl who has a crush on me , she is a bit of a loner and she always wears black clothes which is pretty odd for a girl her age , honestly I think she is weird and dating her would totally ruin my status and popularity , besides I think she is only trying to get attention by standing out from the rest wearing only black clothes while the other students wore a plethora of lively colours.
She never left me alone since we bumped into eachother and things lead into eachother and we ended up trading phone numbers...What have I done....I open the message.
Her message read: "Hey Gary , how are you today?:) " I just replied with a quick "hi , good" and ate my cereal before heading for school.
I walked to school instead of taking the bus since it was earlier than usual.I arrive at the gates and there she is...Waiting for her prey , which was me. I head to the gates avoiding eye contact and think: "Please don't notice me...Please don't notice me..."
But I realised my crafty plan failed when I heard a semi-deep voice coming from my right:
"Hey Gary!" She smiled and waved.
"Oh hey there...Sasha..." I say with a fake smile while quickening my pace , but with no avail as she quickly catches up with me.
"What class you gonna have now?" She asks enthusiasticaly while smiling , like she her smile would magicaly pull me towards her , I only have caught her smilling when she was speaking to me.
"Listen , not now...It's almost time for class and you should go..." I say with a impatient tone while heading for my group of friends.
She was visibly hurt by this statement , and she replied while looking down with a sad expression.
"If you say so..." She sighs and heads to her own classroom , I felt a bit bad but I shruged it off and headed to my group of friends , which were coincidentaly speaking about Sasha , my attention is caught when a girl stuffed with make up and reatching of perfume raised her slightly annoying voice.
"Oh my god! Someone should take off her clothes , pour gasoline on them and burn them away..." Right after she says that statement she starts giggling along with her friends who have a almost similar appearance to her.
I immediately react by impulse saying: "Come on her clothes aren't that..." I stop when I notice the whole group is looking at me with a confused expression. "Nevermind..." I finish and my friends decide to shrug it off , resuming their conversations.
The bell finally rings and we enter math class. As usual I sit in the back where I usually speak with my friends without the teacher even noticing, but today it was different, like I wasn't myself, I did not say a word to any of my friends and actually tried to pay attention...That's odd, even for me, maybe I just want to break the routine and put some passion into something instead of being dull, careless and impassionate like a inanimate object...
The bell rings again and as I leave the classroom I am intercepted by one of my friends, he approached me and expressed his doubts towards me:
"Hey dude what's up with you today? You're so... Boring and dull..." The way he said it sounded almost like an insult, so I said:
"None of your damn business, that's what." I frowned and looked at him; he stared at me like I was a ghost and then backed away into the rest of his friends like nothing had happened. I thought it was odd how easily I warded him off, him being one of my closest friends but after that incident I started to question if we were truly friends or he was with me just for the sake of appearing popular... The later one seems the most plausible...
The day went as normal with a small exception, I did not talk to any of my friends, if I can even call them that now... That incident really made me think...Of course no one directed word to me, apart from a few confused glances and even some glares from them.
The last bell of the day echoed and students immediately started vomiting out of the classroom, cutting the teacher mid-sentence. (Vomit as in projection). I slowly left the classroom and I swore that even the teacher noticed something off about me, as he stared at me since I started leaving the classroom.
As I was walking out of the entrance, there she was, as usual, with her brown kind-of-blonde hair waving in the wind, with her deep green eyes staring at mine. As soon as she noticed me, she started running, if not almost sprinting towards me. She stood right next to me and asked:
"Hey , mind if I walk home with you?" She smiled slightly apparently forgetting how rude I was with her earlier today. I stood there for 5 seconds deciding if I should pour gasoline and hopes on the fire which was her affection towards me and I finally said:
"Fine..." I let out a big sigh, like I immediately regretted it; as soon as I said it I saw her eyes light up with a bit of joy and a calm expression.
We started walking first towards my house, we didn't say anything until halfway when she asked:
"So… W-What kinda music you like?" She asked like she was speaking in front of a crowd of millions, looking at the floor with shame.
What kinds of music did I like? Did I even like music? Well, I was coaxed into listening to several Pop music artists by my friends, but of course that never stuck and I ended up not listening to it, it wasn't my thing.
I stood there for a minute walking and thinking about the wonder but I ended up saying something half assed.
"I...Don't really listen to any kind of music...How about you?" I said a bit embarrassed, I mean what kind of teenager doesn't listen to music these days?
At this point she didn't expect me to reply. "Oh! Umm...I like slayer, Iron maiden, Metallica, I don't know if you had ever heard of them..." She says with a tone of mild surprise.
"I have heard several songs from them, not bad to be honest...." I used to listen to them a lot , I stopped some years ago because my friends said it was stupid and satanic , of course me being the popularity desperate kid I used to be I listened to my friends and dropped the metal and picked up Pop.”
She smiles after this statement and kept up adding small talk. Turns out we have more in common that I thought. We like the same movies, videogames, and even YouTubers... The walk continued that way until she said:
"I know a shortcut towards your house, want to check it out?" She smiles calmly and serenely, I didn't really question of how she knew the way to my house and had a shortcut but I ended up agreeing.
"Yeah...Sure..." I say with the mind set of 'What could possibly go wrong?'... I don't exactly regret what I saw but... I don't exactly praise it either to be honest.
And so we walked towards an alley that lead into some road on the field, but from the distance we spotted something off, there appeared to be police vehicles and some criminal tape around it but I didn't put much thought into it...Until we saw it.
