“Man, did you see how quick Tracey was?” my dad asked no one in particular.
“Can’t believe my boy done dunked right over Nick Young’s head like that!” Craig literally shouted.
We all laughed.
“You better believe it Craig, because that’s gonna be you soon! I can see you now. Both you and Tracey gonna be the talk of our state. Just you wait,” my momma told him with a huge smile on her face. She knew just like everyone else that Craig was well on his way to the top.
Craig kissed my mom’s cheek, “Thanks for always believing in me Mama D.”
“Daddy, you do know you didn’t have to bring that pillow cushion right? The seats are already cushioned well enough. They’re way different from the other seats,” I stated. Tracey had given our folks exclusive passes for the day and my dad was loving every bit of it.
“Yea I know. You told me a million times, but I need that extra cushion.”
We all laughed. I swear he can be such a character at times. That’s where Abby got that trait from. During halftime, I noticed some of the wives, girlfriends, and fiancés of the basketball players. Usually, I’d be sitting with them, but I decided to just hang with my family. I’ll introduce everyone after the game is over.
I noticed the Lakers come back onto the court, but they were throwing the ball around. Getting a quick practice in as usual. I peeped Tracey looking good as ever. No lie, I’m still mad from the Megan situation, but I had to let it go. I’m not sure if he’s cheating or if the girl is really just a friend. Tracey and I did have another argument this morning when we woke back up, but he just dismissed it and me as if I were his child or something. Just thinking about the whole situation made me livid all over again.
“You okay?” Lana asked me as she placed her hand over mines.
I looked at her and smiled. “Yea, I’m fine.”
“The Governors are down by 19 points, giving the Lakers the lead so far,” one of the sportscasters, John, announced and that caused a whole lot of cheering. The Lakers were playing at home, and they brought everyone out tonight for support.
“Lets put the cam on the audience and see who’s here,” the other announcer Liam said. The crowd went wild as random people were being shown on the screen above.
“Is that a ring we see on Jada Roberts finger?”
I glanced up to see all the screens were showing me. I instantly blushed because I didn’t want to be the center of attention. My family started cheering and that only caused me to laugh.
“Its about time Tracey proposed,” Liam said.
“Yea, I heard they been together since high school. Can’t wait to see that wedding.” There was a slight pause. “Looks like we got August Alsina in the building as well!” John reported.
Next thing you know all you could hear was women screaming. I wanted to go over and speak, but decided against it. I spotted him and his crew immediately. Security was trying hard to fight some of the females off, but to me it was no use.
If I didn’t know August personally, I’d be one of those screaming fans as well, I thought to myself.
“Look at little Auggie all grown up! I haven’t seen him since all of yall were in high school,” my mom said.
