"Timmy, come here. Let's play catch", shouted Sarah.

It's hot and humid. Who would want to play in this weather?

I snuggle behind the bushes and roll on my back letting the wet mud cool me down.

I can hear Sarah getting closer.

What a bother!

"Timmy! Did you have to lie down on the mud and get dirty? I just gave you a bath today morning", Sarah scolded.

"Now get up and stop giving me that innocent expression. Get up, you lazy dog", grumbled Sarah trying her best to pull me up using my collar.

After a few minutes, Sarah huffed and walked back into the house.

Thank Goodness. I can sleep longer.

Wait! Is that the door opening again. Just my luck. Sarah must have not given up yet.

I quietly get up and hide behind another bush.

"Timmy! Do you want these dog biscuits? Come and get them", Sarah shouted.

I sniffed.

Yum!

Those definitely are my favorite. I ran to Sarah. Only, she didn't give me immediately. She made me run all over the yard and gave me the biscuits in the end.

I was sweaty after all the running. I lied down huffing and puffing with my tongue hanging out. Sarah sat beside me and rubbed me behind my ears.

Aaah! So amazing. I love it when Sarah does that.

"Silly dog. I won't be able to play much for the next few months. I have exams", said Sarah sadly.

Exams? What is that?

I had no idea what Sarah is talking about but she was sad. I get up and lick her face up making her giggle. I just want to make her happy.

*** After a few months ***

Sarah hasn't been playing with me. I'm lonely.

I miss her. Where is she?

We live in a house with a big yard surrounded by a wall. The yard is just for me. I look out onto the street. There are a lot of dogs. Sarah says that they are street dogs. She never allows me to go near them.

I'm bored. I wish I had a friend.
Hmm. I'll try to make friends with the street dogs.

I wait for Sarah's mother to come home from work. The minute she opens the gate, I run out. Sarah's mother tries her best to catch me. But, I'm just too good. I escape.

I run to the dogs and try to play with them.

They ignore me and walk away.

I bark and playfully jump on one of the dogs.

Ouch! Hooooowl!

The dog bit my ear. I yelped in pain and ran back to the house. Sarah was standing near the gate searching for me.

"Oh Timmy, what have you done", said Sarah sadly when she noticed my bleeding ear.

We went to the vet's office and I was made to stand on a huge steel table. It was cold and strange. But, Sarah was there. So, it was okay.

The doctor bandaged my ear and we went home.

Darn it. My ear is so itchy.

I scratch my ear with my paw and it starts hurting more.
