"where's will?"
she asked sadly,
almost silently.
her face devoid of emotion.
her skin pale from the early effects of minimal malnutrition.
she lifted her fingers and flexed
through her weakness.
and it had passed through her mind
countless times
that he was
done
with
her.
that she was simply too much of a burden.
"i need him..."
she laid there
letting her mother shake with sobs.
she waited for her mother to stop.
just
stop,
she couldn't take the sadness,
etched onto the beautiful canvas that was her mother.
'i'm sorry!' she wanted to scream.
but all she could focus on
was being imperfect.
being forgotten by the one person that could make her
smile through her tears.
