Hello everyone! I am probably the world's worst writer with my updating inconsistencies but I believe you will forgive me because I have another chapter for you.

I locked my office door and headed to my car. It was a stressful and exhausting day at work – as always - but I have gotten used to it. I stepped out to the chilly evening air that nipped my skin through the jacket that I was wearing. The sun had almost fully set making the sky look like a cotton candy inspired canvas.

After an hour long drive back home - due to the annoying traffic in this city – I finally parked my car in my driveway. I turned off my car and rubbed my neck and twisted it until I heard a satisfying crack sound then got out of my car.

After a warm shower that did little to ease my exhaustion I sat in my living room with a bowl of pasta in my hands that I had made last night and heated in the microwave before going to shower. I was going through the channels looking for something interesting to watch but found nothing.

I picked my phone that was lying on the table next to me and dialled my mother's number, which was answered in the first few rings

"Hey honey" Her chirpy voice resonated through the phone putting a smile on my face

"Hi mom. How are you?" I put the half eaten bowl of on the table and got comfortable on the couch before picking it up again. "I am doing great. You sound like your dying sweetie, is everything alright?"

I chuckle escaped my throat before I answered back "I am fine. It's just I am really busy at work lately. There are tons of new projects coming in everyday and we are swamped with work every second of the day"

"Sorry to hear that honey. But take it easy okay. I know you love your job but don't burn yourself out okay" The concern in her voice tugs my heart. I really miss her, I can't believe it's almost been six months since I last saw her

"Okay mom don't worry about me, I will be fine. How about you? How's work?" My mother is the perfect example of a single working mother. Growing up I watched her juggle three jobs and struggle to open her own business after my dad left us. It wasn't until I was sixteen did she finally get a better paying job at a big hot Marketing firm back home and run her own diner that was the busiest diner in our town. But not once did she complain and not once did she complain or miss out on anything that had to do with me. She went to every single spelling bee, parent's day, swimming meet, graduation, birthday she never missed a single event in my life and I just hope that I can be like her when I am a mother.

"Work's great. But I think that I want to quit and focus on the diner more. What do you think?"

"If it makes you happy then go for it. I think you should start taking it slow, I mean your only child already has a job and can fully support herself so you don't really have a lot to worry about"

"I'll think about it a little more" I really think that she should just quit and concentrate on the diner more, she should take things slow and not burn herself out. "How's the diner by the way?"

"It's great. Business is doing so well, I am about to expand the diner and maybe add a few more staff. It's getting even busier everyday"

I could almost picture my mom's eyes light up as she talked about the diner. She was really proud of herself and I was really proud of her. "That's great mom I am really happy for you"

"Thanks honey. You know I couldn't have done it without you. You pushed me to be a better version of myself"

"Now you're just trying to make me emotional" I scoffed as my eyes watered and I heard sniffles on the other end of the call
