Chapter 3- The Time Turner

Now turn left, precious. We have something substantial to acquire.

My feet marched in the ordered direction on their own. Somewhere deep inside of me, I knew that something was wrong, but that thought flew right outside of my head as the hissing voice engulfed my senses again.

Meritorious! Now head straight..

I found myself standing outside Dumbledore's old office; the office that had been left unoccupied since he had died. Dad visited this office many times.

Suddenly a bulb went on in my brain. I blinked rapidly.

What was I doing here right now?

In the middle of the night?

Looking at myself, I found out that I was clothed in my nightgown and was barefooted.

Had I been sleepwalking?

Shhhh.... You have to abet me, precious! I am your master!

My arms fell to my sides and my eyes acquired a distant look. A various coherent thoughts flashed inside my brain, but they were soon replaced by the instructions of my master.

I had to please my master.

I had to help my master.

You know the password... Say it!

"Chocolate Frogs." I heard myself say in a dream like voice.

The gargoyle slid aside to reveal a spiral staircase. I climbed up the staircase mechanically. My thoughst might be clouded, but it was like my body knew just what had to be done.

I absent midedly took the details of the room. The room was circular and large, full of funny little noises. There was a large bookshelf in a corner and just beside it was the headmaster's chair with a table in front. The sorting hat was placed on one of the empty shelves. The room's walls were covered with various portraits. The portraits of old headmasters and headmistresses of Hogwarts. They were all snoozing in their frames. All except for one..

"May I ask, what you're doing here at this late hour, Miss Potter?" asked the portrait of an old man with half moon spectacles, his eyes having this mysterious glint in them.

"I don't think it's any of your business, sir." I said without any hint of hesitation. Dumbledore stared at me expressionless. We had not talked before this, since one just not walked into Dumbledore's office without permission, but I could tell that he found my behavious suspicous.

"I think it's most certainly of my business to know what my students are doing and not-"

"Vitro Confractus!" Unknown words flew out of my mouth and my hand moved the wand on its own accord. Within seconds, the portrait of Dumbeldore was shattered into pieces.

"Facti Calamtis." I heard myself say again and I looked down to find my body disappearing into thin air. I was invisible.

The noise of shattering had woke the sleeping headmasters and headmistresses. They all started talking about what had happened.

"What was that noise?"

"Is someone here?"

"I can't see anyone!"

"Look! Dumbledore's portrait has been destroyed."

"Who could do that?"

Rest of their conversations drowned out as the hissing voice spoke again.
