11. ONE LAST NIGHT

So they did, even though they'd stuffed themselves full with ramen only half an hour ago.
Taehyung sheepishly admits that he's never tried taiyaki, so after a gasp of outrage and a minute of have you been living under a rock, you plebeian lecture from Yoongi, they set off to buy some. Taehyung sticks to his promise, too, and pays for Yoongi's ice-cream, two scoops of coffee and dark chocolate.
"You always buy those flavours," Taehyung had commented. It's an off-hand remark, but as soon as Taehyung says it, they both pause for a second.
Yoongi had blinked slow, and something tightens in his chest when he asks, "you remember that?"
"Yeah," Taehyung replies, hesitant. "You don't really like sweet treats but you always buy ice-cream, always coffee and dark chocolate. Or sometimes strawberry, if you want something sweeter." His gaze flutters down and his voice trails off in the end, as if he can't look Yoongi in the eye.
"Oh. Yeah. I...I guess I stick to what I like." Yoongi doesn't know what else to say, not quite believing that Taehyung still remembers, still has these small details committed to his mind. Not quite sure what this means, other than Taehyung might have thought of Yoongi on occasion, after they'd broken up, too.
More than Yoongi had expected.
Afterwards, they brush off the moment, easy like shaking off a stray leaf, and head over to the grassy hill where they sit in a less crowded corner. The grass is a bit damp under Yoongi's touch, but it's not as noisy, and Tokyo has decorated itself with stars tonight, the sky and a whirling expanse of inky black above them. No clouds cover the moon, and so they sit back with their desserts in hand, legs stretched out, staring at the pale crescent and dots of twinkling stars, blinking in and out at them.
For a moment, they're quiet, only eating and observing the thrum of the market, gazes up at the sky and constellations laid out above them like a tapestry. It's nice. Yoongi finds that he doesn't feel the need to talk, doesn't feel like he has to pad the silence with polite drivel; the quiet between them feels hushed and comfortable, giving Yoongi some time to recollect himself after laughing and chatting so much.
Soon they break the silence again, easy talk drifting into the air, and Taehyung scoots over to pull up some videos of his dog, showing Yoongi a minute-long clip in which Yeontan has somehow been possessed by an aggressive spirit, that must be it, there's no other explanations, really, watch this hyung.
Taehyung huddles close to show Yoongi, and their shoulders more than graze this time around. Yoongi's heart leaps, and he tries to shove down the urge to lean into the touch again, maybe pull Taehyung a bit closer so their bodies can intertwine better.
