Richard frowned as he read Charlie's text. Come into the bridal room now. We have a bit of a situation with one of the bridesmaids.
Farrah was supposed to be Charlie's Maid of Honour but due to her hectic schedule she was unable to confirm her attendance to the wedding. He knew how upset Charlie was, but she didn't hold it against her best friend. It was after years of doing grunt work that Farrah was finally living out her dreams. He didn't know how it happened, but once he offered his help for the wedding, Charlie had him assume temporary Maid of Honour duties until Farrah came back. Shaking his head he also knew Charlie got a kick out of ordering the Prince of Wales around.
Farrah was supposed to be back home last month, but she was so likeable and relatable to viewers that the channel kept ordering more episodes which delayed her schedule. She had even become the 'It' girl for the BBCS YouTube channel doing short travel videos as they shot content for their primary show. And of course, Richard had watched every single episode of her work.
He missed her; that searing pain he felt when she left had now become a dull ache. He'd feel a pang whenever he'd see her on the tele or on his phone but that too would dull and settle in his chest.
Sighing, he knocked on the door to the bridal room. "Come in," he heard Charlie call. Walking in briskly, he saw Charlie hugging someone. The veil that had been artfully placed on Charlie's hair obscured the face of the person.
"Charlie, what's wrong? Ben said you had a situation...," Richard trailed feeling confused. He watched as Charlie stepped away from the person she was hugging. And Richard stopped breathing. In an emerald green column dress, there stood a vision who very closely resembled his Farrah.
His eyes darted towards Charlie who had the most beautiful smile on her face as she nodded at him; that yes, this was really Farrah. She was really here.
"Hi baby," he heard her say and it was like a balm to the ache he felt in his chest. He could feel his chest expanding, breathing easily after months.
"Assalamualaikum, my love," he answered her, the Arabic word sounded like a lilting melody as he said it.
He watched as the smile grew on Farrah's face. He opened his arms to her and she flew into his arms not a second later.
"Welcome home, love," Richard said into her hair as he inhaled the lingering smell of honey and almonds.
