Chapter 2
Lan was expecting a loud bang followed by his immediate death but he felt alright, just a little out of sorts Maybe his death was so quick he didn't feel it. He hadn't opened his eyes yet afraid of what he'd see. He had stopped flying and was now merely floating in the air. His mind was boggled by the trip through the rift he had taken, it was too much for his tiny brain to comprehend. He felt gravity again, and his feet touched ground. He fell forwards barely able to catch himself. There seemed to be a wooden floor under him but he was experiencing massive jet-lag, he wanted to rest. He drifted quickly into a deep sleep.
Moments later he woke up being shaken, "What are you doing here?" said a hushed small voice.
He opened his eyes to find he wasn't dead but in a cabin of a ship. Over him stood the girl he had followed to give back her bag. He looked over and realized he was carrying it again. He had returned to his original state. He saw a bed and realized he was in her room.
"I came to give you back your purse?" His confusion could be heard in his voice. He felt strange waking up after the whole ordeal and remembering what happened before. Everytime he blinked he still saw the rift hall.
The girl gave a short laugh, grabbed her purse, put it down on her vanity and started pacing back in forth. She was wondering what to do with him. This had been the first time anyone had ever been able to follow her through the rift. She had several thoughts: to send him back home, keep him her;, would she tell him all about it or leave him in the dark. She even thought of killing him which made her laugh, it wasn't some secret he couldn't know about.
In fact she had tried telling people but they wouldn't believe her. She couldn't show it to them either. In their eyes she'd not go anywhere, even when she had been away for months in another dimension. She'd even change clothes and bring back crazy objects from other places but what she had on her wouldn't surprise the person she showed because that's what she'd had on her all day there. It was impossible to convince someone you were a slider..
She had thought about having a friend come with her but this was a stranger. I guess she could make him a part of her crew on her airship, or she could give him the option to go home. Those would be the best things to do. She looked at him as he got off of the floor. He gave her a smile. She blushed but started pretending to go through her purse to check if everything was there.
"What just happened?" something crazy had definitely just happened.
"You just travelled to another dimension," she said simply.
"Oh..." He thought for a moment about what this meant, "Can you explain more?"
"You have just landed yourself in this world, before now you never existed, but now that you are here everyone thinks you have existed. Your body is froze in the alley where you were until you go back to the original dimension," Lan nodded, "You have a choice now: you can stay and join my crew or go back home. If you ever come back here you'll have just decided to go home. So you can go home for a bit and decide if you want. You wouldn't even age in this dimension. You could be an old man in the original one and be young in this one right here in my room.
He went home, the end.
