Chapter 2: Hello Neighbour

I grab my coat and walk out the door. It never snowed in Australia so it is going to be hard getting used to snow in our front yard.

I walk down the front steps and past the large fountain out the front of the house, and begin to walk down the street. All the houses look so perfectly neat and there is not one blade of grass about of order.

After walking around the streets and local park for a bit, I decide to head home to eat. Hopefully something with a high fat content. As I get to my drive way I see a silver Porsche Boxster pull into the drive way next door.

A pretty brunette bounce out of the car in a floral dress and navy blue coat. I avert my eyes to my house until I hear her call out to me.

"You must be our new neighbour!"

I turn to see her walking over to me with a bright smile on her face. The way her eyes are so large and her hair so curly, it makes her look so friendly and innocent.

"Hi it's nice to meet you. I'm Jade Smith."

"Sarah Channel. Where are you from? I don't recognise the accent."

"I'm from Brisbane, Australia. We just arrived here today."

"That's awesome! I've always wanted to go to Australia! Are you going to Kimberly High School?"

"Yeah, you?"

"Yeah. I came last year after living in Los Angeles my whole life."

"Wow, really? I thought I detected an American accent."

"Yeah, we moved here because of my parents. We being me and my little brother Eric. Do you have any siblings?"

"Yeah, I've got a twin sister, Emily."

We heard a beeping sound, then Sarah pulled out her phone to reveal a text.

"Hey, I got to go, my mum needs me, but I'd like to show you around London some time."

"Yeah sure, that'd be great!"

"Cool! Well, I'll see you at school Jade."

"Bye"

I continue my walk down to my house and open the front door. I am immediately hit with the heat inside and am grateful that dad figured out how to work the heater (finally). I take my coat off and head to the kitchen. After going in I realise that we have no food so I search on my phone for a pizza shop and order.

"Hello, my names Paul from John's Pizzeria, what can I get you?"

"A large pepperoni pizza please."

"Sure that will be £5.99. Will this be delivered?"

"Yes please."

After I tell Paul my address, I put the phone down and call my sister.

"Emily!"

I hear a door open and footsteps from above me leading to the stairs. Emily stands at the top of the stairs and looks at me with an irritated frown on her face.

"What? I'm watching Teen Wolf and Derek has been shot and may or may not die! So if you could please hurry this up it would be greatly appreciated!" She hissed.

"I can't believe you just told me that!" I screech. Annoyance clear in my voice after my sister just told me what happens.

"Well you were going to find out anyways," She tries to justify.

"Well the point of watching a TV show, is to not know what happens before hand!"

"Whatever. Just tell me when the pizza gets here," She says and walks back to her room.

After that lovely conversation with my sister, I walk over to the living room to watch some TV, in waiting for the pizza to arrive. After watching an episode of Ridiculousness, I hear the doorbell ring and quickly answer it.

After paying for the pizza I call out to Emily that it's here. After grabbing a slice, I hear my phone ringing from the living room and rush to answer it.

"Hello?"

"Hey Jade, it's Aunty Louise!"

Aunty Louise is my mums sister basically my second mother. When Emily and I were little and mum and dad would go on business trips, she would look after us. We spent most of our time at Aunty Louise's house, but then she moved to London last year.

"Hey Aunty Louis! How are you?"

"I'm good thanks hon! I was just checking in to see if you arrived here safely."

"Oh yeah we arrived this afternoon. I never realised England was this cold until I stepped off the plane!"

"Yeah it gets pretty chilly here. Hey, I was going to stop by tomorrow afternoon and was wondering if you could watch Thomas and Evie while I go to a doctors appointment?"

Thomas and Evie are Aunty Louise's 6 year old kids. I used to play with them when ever I went over there house and they are absolutely ADORABLE!

"Sure! I'd love to watch them. I haven't seen them in ages."

"Since I told them you were moving here they haven't stopped talking about you. They have been demanding a play date for weeks."

"Hahah. Well come over when ever you want tomorrow. Our furniture is coming tomorrow morning so we will be unpacking all morning, but come over any time after that and I'll be alright to watch them."

"Thank you so much sweet heart! See you tomorrow."

"Bye Aunty Louise!"

After I end the call, I walk into the kitchen for another slice of pizza. After getting my pizza and a can of soda, I walk back to the living room and put on The Fault In Our Stars. here comes the tears.
