Mila's POV~

Kellins phone rang and the happy look on his face fell. He stared at his screen as if it were evil. His pupils were dilating. And I could see it. After about fifteen seconds he excused himself to answer the call. Who was calling that made him get so..so scared like that? I pushed the thought to the back of my head and got up to go make some tea. As I opened the door I was face to face with Jennifer. I haven't really had a chance to hangout with her since all of the commotion going on. I regained myself and greeted her simply,"hey." I looked down and noticed a tray of food in her hand. Probably for Kellin and I. I motioned to the platter and she nodded. I set the tray down on his night stand and then walked out shutting the door behind me. Jennifer held her head down. Not in a sad way but it seemed to be as more of a respectable notion. "How have you been?" I asked trying to start up a conversation. She lazily shrugged her shoulders as if there was a weight holding them down. It felt as if the air was becoming thicker with the awkward silence I was receiving. "Well I'm going to make a cup of tea,do you want to join me?" I asked hopefully she'd snap out of this silent trance. She shrugged once more while barely nodding her head. I knew something was up but I was afraid to ask what was wrong. I want some breathing space. A break. A break from all of this drama. All of this mess. All of this accident. I began to think about how different my life would've been if I wouldn't have been wandering around that one day by myself. I'd be at home with my parents watching Sunday shows and baking. I wouldn't be kidnapped. I wouldn't be sold at a slave auction. I wouldn't hate Nathan. Most importantly I wouldn't be eighteen and engaged. These facts floated around my head making me dizzy. I put my hands to my temples and massaged them trying to get rid of the tiny pulse that had come to live there. When we walked in to the kitchen I put the kettle to boil and then took a seat by the bar. Jen joined me,sitting a few chairs a way I still within reaching and talking distance. I found my fingers grazing against the soft cherry wood. The natural lines and markings inside if the table made me smile. I always adored the simplest things and this feature was one of them. Jennifer let out a big breath and then spoke all at once,"areyoupregnant?" Is what it sounded like she asked. My hands stopped tracing the thick piece of wood and I looked up to meet with her eyes. She looked like a complete mess. Her eyes were rimmed with water and her bottom lip was shaking. "No Jennifer I'm not pregnant,"I replied sort of embarrassed,"Kellin and I haven't even did..you know..it." Her face seemed to get back a little bit of color as she let out a fake laugh,"no no I said I'm p-pregnant,"she emphasized on the word I'm. My heart began to flutter and a smile appeared on my face. "Who's is it?" I asked enthusiastically. Her face dropped down once more, but her answer was a clear as daylight,"Kellin."
