Unexpected Love (Jai Brooks Fanfic)

Chapter 3

-ELLIE'S POV-

I had no clue where we were going. I still didn't know my way around, and this is quite a bit away from home. Jai pulled into a car park, he came round and opened the door for me. We walked over the carpark and entered a magnificent park.

"Wow." i said, in awe at my surroundings.

"Nice isn't it?" Jai said looking at me, sending shivers down my spine.

"It's beautiful." 

It truly was lovely. The park was covered in swerving paths, people laying on blankets having picnic's, children running around, playing with kites and kicking around soccer balls, there was a huge lake situated in the middle of the park and at the edge there were some swan paddle boats.

Suddenly, my gaze was broken, i was swept off my feet and before i knew it, Jai had thrown me over his shoulder and was running down the grass heading towards the lake.

Oh god.

"JAI, NO, LET ME DOWN!" I screamed punching his back lightly. 

"I don't think so!" he said in between laughing as he continued to run down the path towards the lake, people were looking at us, but i didn't mind. We had arrvied at the lake and he put me down. I was trying to catch my breath. 

"What was that?!" i said with a grin spread across my face.

"Just a bit of fun, i was going to through you in, but i thought i'd be nice since it's our first date and everything."

"It is not a date!" i said, lightly hitting him on the arm. He looked at me with a puppy dog look on his face and was rubbing his arm where i had hit him.

"You want to go on the peddle boats?" Jai asked and i nodded in agreement.

"Race ya!" i said and quickly turned to run to the boats. Jai followed.

"Hah! Bet'cha!" I panted, trying to regain my breath.

"Your pretty quick!" he said also sounding out of breath.

"Well, i do gymnastics and a bit of running." i boasted.

"Gymnastics huh? That means your flexible, nice to know.." he commented cheekily and i hit him again on the arm. "Oi! Quit it, or you will be going in that lake." he said pointing to the lake, and i stuck my tounge out at him.

We chose our boat and got on carefully, Jai held out his hand to help me on, i smiled at him in return. 

-JAI'S POV-

We peddled out into the middle of the lake and stopped for a break, she looked like she was having a good time, i was glad. I was really starting to warm to her, but for some reason she seemed like she had built up a wall.

We just sat, chatting. It was nice getting to know her.

"So, you have any boyfriends back in Scotland?" suddenly she froze and i saw her gulp.

"El?" i asked, sounding worried.

"Oh, er, sorry." she replied, snapping out of her stare. Her eyes were filling up with tears, and i could tell she was trying to hold them in.

I leaned over and pulled her chin up and looked into her eyes, "El, what's wrong?".

"Nothing." she snapped.

Something was'nt right. She was never like this, well for the short time i've known her. A thought suddenly popped into my head. 

"I know what'll cheer you up." I stood up on the boat and it wobbled a bit.

"HELLO BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE!" I shouted. El started laughing and tried to get me to sit down, but it wasn't going to work. People started looking and staring at me like i was a creep.

"I AM HERE TODAY, TO REVEAL THE TRUE ME." i shouted, holding my arms out. I looked behind me, she had her hands over her mouth trying not to let the laughter burst out.

"I AM GAY." I shouted and suddenly i lost my balance and fell out of the boat.

I came to the surface and took a deep breath. It was freezing. El was holding out her hand to help me. But i went under the water and swum over to her side of the boat, as i surfaced she was still looking out my side, trying to find me. When suddenly i grabbed her arm and pulled her in with me. She screamed before splashing into the water.

She came back up to the surface gasping for air, then grinning.

"IT'S FUCKING FREEZING." she screamed, splashing water at me.

Her accent was fucking adoreable. 

I swam closer to her and she splashed me with water, i splashed her back and we threw our heads back with laughter. I pushed her fringe out of the way of her mezmorising silver eyes. I looked into them, before leaning in to kiss her.

Before i could i felt something press against my lip, i opened my eyes to find her finger on my lips. 

"I'm sorry, i can't." she said, her eyes tearing up.

"El, you have to tell me what's wrong, you can trust me." she could trust me. I wouldn't do anything to hurt her feelings. She seemed like she had been hurt before and it makes me sick that somebody could do anything to her.

She started swimming over to a small island that was situated in the middle of the lake. I followed her. There was a little strand of sand and we just sat.

"So, you going to tell me what's up?" i asked curiously.

"I don't know.." she said with a sigh, looking down and playing with her fingers.

I turned her head round to face me. "I won't tell anybody, i promise."
