The Bet

Jenni's Pov

My head was pounding. Like I hit it on something. I could hear voices all around me. Although I couldn't make out a word they said. I wanted to go back to sleep... but I had to open my eyes... it was like I was being compelled to. So I opened my heavy eyelids to reveal my room. I groan as my head pounds more.
"Jenni." Brooke's worried voice comes to my ears.
"Brooke?" I call, sitting up, making the room spin around me.
"Careful." Jake says to me as he supports me.
"Where's Brae?" I say, anxious.
"I'm right here." Brae says, my eyes instantly going to where I heard his voice.
I lean toward him, wrapping him in a hug. He doesn't make a move to hug me back.
"Hug me." I say, tightening the hug a little.
I feel Brae's chest rumble as he chuckles, wrapping his arms around me. I missed him. I pull away and move a little closer to Jake, patting next to me, an indicator to sit. Brae sits on the bed and Brooke launches forward at me from the end of my bed.
"Jesus!" I say, my eyes widening as she hugs me.
I hug her back and after a few moments she pulls away. A smile on her face.
"What's happened with Colby?" I ask noticing that he wasn't here.
"He's outside. Brae made sure he wouldn't come back in until you allow him to or he does." Brooke answers, laughing a little. "Colby feels guilty and won't be returning me anytime soon."
"Good." I say, laughing.
"How does your head feel?" Jake asks me.
"It's a little painful, but otherwise fine." I say, smiling.
I look back at Brooke to see her staring at me with a suspicious glare.
"what?" I ask.
"Nothing." Brooke responds still glaring at me.
"You think I'm lying don't you?" I ask.
"Yes." Brooke says honestly.
"Well, I'm not." I say, sticking my tongue out at her. She just gives me a deadly glare. Which I don't take seriously ever.
I rest my head on Jake's shoulder as a knock comes from the door.
"Wait!" Brae yells with a stern voice.
"Come in." I call, glaring at Brae.
"Jenni?" Colby says, poking his head in.
"Yes?"
"I uh... want to say sorry..." he says walking in. "I wasn't thinking straight and I didn't realise how much strength I was using."
"All is forgiven." I say, smiling.
Colby stares at me in shock, like he couldn't register that I forgave him.
"Really?" He asks, baffled.
"Yea." I say nodding.
"Thank you." He says.
I just smile, closing my eyes and cuddling up next to Jake.
"No." Brae says, pulling me away from Jake. "No."
"What?" I ask.
"No."
"Why?"
"Because I said so."
"Last time I checked you wanted me to have a relationship."
"Wait, you two are dating?!" Brooke asks, starting to fangirl.
My eyes widen as I look over at Jake realising what I said.
"Uh..." I say, "whoops."
"Everyone out!" Brooke says, fangirling more. "But you two!"
Brae, Colby and Brooke all leave, but not without Brooke giving me a thumbs up.
"So..." Jake says. "You just kinda said we are dating..."
"Yea..." I say, smiling. "Sorry..."
"It's fine," Jake says "just make this easier for me now."
"What?"
"This." Jake places his lips on top of mine. I'm quick to kiss him back, but the kiss is shortly lived as he pulls back. "Do you want to go on a date with me?"
"Fuck yes." I say, laughing and wrapping my arms around him.
I give him a little peck before I hug him.
"I fucking guessed it! You owe me $10!" I hear Brooke yell in victory, "suck my dick!"
"What the fuck?" Jake says, laughing.
"That's just a phrase she says... wait a minute." I say, realising that she bet on us getting together. "Brooke Ochman!"
"Yes?" She says, popping her head into the room, only to be greeted by me charging her way. "Shit!"
"You bet on me!?" I ask flinging the door open.
"What?! No! I would never! Okay yes I did..."
"Bitch. You should've got me in on it!"
"What?" Brae says, laughing.
"I need money." I say, smirking.
