Jenni's Pov

I drive my car into the street Brooke and I live in to see three cars at our house, excluding Brooke's car. I park on the road because two cars were in the driveway already. I get out and help Brooke get out. We walk up our driveway and to our front door to see it open.
"Stay out here." I say, getting suspicious that someone broke in.
I look at out front door handle to see it without a scratch. I then open the screen door and step inside. I instantly hear voices quickly die out.
"Hello!" I call, taking slow steps towards the living room and kitchen. My heart thumping loudly in my chest, feeling like it's going to jump out of my chest and onto the floor.
"Jenni?" I hear Brae's voice.
I turn around to Brooke and I nod letting her know it okay.
"Brae?" I call back, walking into the kitchen.
"You haven't changed a bit." Brae says, giving me a quick hug.
"Same goes big nose." I say, laughing. Brae laughing with me.
"How have you been?"
"Could be better." I say, "I mean if my roommate didn't get bitten then everything would be better."
"Hey!" Brooke says, defensive, "that shark came out of no where! I also still have my leg!"
"Which you could've lost!"
"You're so dramatic! I wouldn't lose it!"
"You know damn well you're more dramatic than me."
"Oh really?"
"Yes, did you forget about when I went just for a check up at the hospital?"
Brooke gasps at me, "how dare you bring that up!"
"Try me." I say, playfully glaring at her.
"Bitch."
"Right back at you."
"You two are still weird as hell I assume." Brae says, interrupting us.
"Brae. Why on earth would we change?" I ask, raising my eyebrows.
Brae just laughs and shakes his head.
I hear the screen door open and hurried feet run in.
"Shit." I say, picking up Brooke Bridle style and running to her room.
"What's going on?" Brooke asks me.
I run into her room and I gently place Brooke on her bed.
"Stay." I say, rushing out of the room.
"Jenni!" I hear Colby.
"Shit, shit, shit!" I say, looking down he hallway quickly.
Colby was walking down the hallway with Brae behind him confused.
"Shit." I say and I run into my room. "Uhhh shit."
I quickly run into my closet and grab clothes to make it look like I was putting clothes away. I run to my bed with my arms full of clothes, dumping them onto my bed as my door slams open. I jump in fright as Colby marches to me.
"Uh, hey Colby." I say climbing onto my bed to stay away from him, "what you doing here?"
"I'm getting Brooke and returning her to the hospital."
"She's still at the hospital, what are you talking about?" I ask as he glares at me. "I returned her after we got a good cup of coffee."
"I doubt that." Colby says.
"No clue why." I say, smiling sheepishly.
"Jenni, what's going on?" Brae asks me.
"Uh... you know how Brooke got bitten... she's not released yet." I say, sparing him a glance.
"What?!" Brae says shocked.
I laugh nervously.
"Colby, I'll get her." Jake says.
"Shit." I say climbing back onto my bed.
"No you won't!" Brae says stopping him.
I look over at Jake and Brae only to be grabbed my the arm and pulled off the bed. I scream as I start to fall to the floor. I hit the floor with a thud, the wind getting knocked out of me.
"You idiot!" Brae yells, as I start to see black dots. "What did you do! Under this carpet would be ether hard wood or concrete!"
"I'm sorry I didn't think she would actually hit the ground." Colby says, guilt in his voice.
"Jenni." I hear Jake's voice before I see him. His hands rest on my shoulders as I lay on my back.
"Jake..." I say, panic consuming me. "I'm going to faint..."
"You're going to be okay Jenni, don't worry." Jake says, comforting me.
I star up into his eyes as everything around us disappears.
"Who the fuck fell?" I hear Brooke's voice yell as everything slowly goes black. Everything but Jake's worried, beautiful brown eyes.
