After spending a few nights in the forest, Zero and Daisy continues their journey toward Callon town. Along the way, knowing that Daisy can actually speak, Zero starts teaching her how to speak and she's showing some progress although she still couldn't fully speak fluently.
They were walking through the forest at night when Zero and the wolf cub heard something not far away from them. The wolf cub had already run ahead of the two of them.
Finally, they reach the source of the commotion. They hid behind some bushes and they heard some cries and few angry shouts from a couple of men.
Zero peeked at the scene from behind the bushes, and what he thought was true.
"Slave traders...," Zero said,
"Sl..ave..?" Daisy said,
"Hm, bad guys. Be careful of them, but I'm gonna take care of them," Zero said as he patted Daisy's head,
"Hm, bad guy...Zero...beat...," Daisy nodded,
Zero then slowly creeps close, he climbs onto a tree to get a better look.
It appear that there are four men, and five kids. Attacking four of them head on will be suicide, and he doesn't know how powerful his enemies are. He'll need to get the kids out of the way, or they'll be at a risk to be used as hostages. He'll need the kids's cooperation on this one.
Luckily, after locking up the kids, the Slave traders went to have a late time dinner by the fire. It's time for Zero to take action.
While the Slave traders are busy eating, he went toward the carriage that keeps the kids locked up. He didn't forget to cover up himself, he's worried that the kids might suspect him if they know he's a half-demon.
"Psst! Hey..! Anyone awake...!" Zero whispered,
"W-who are you...?" One of the kids asked,
"Chill, I'm busting you guys out of here," Zero said, he skillfully picks the lock and opens the gate,
"Don't come out until I say 'run', you got it? Now stay put," Zero said,
Then, he proceeds by throwing a rock at the beast hounds of the other carriage. The hounds barks after getting hit, this attracts the Slave traders attention.
"Hey, go check it out," Said one of them,
"Why me?"
"Cuz you've already finished yours, while we're still eating! Now shut up and go check the hounds!"
"Fine Fine!"
And so one of them stood up and went toward the other carriage. Zero smirks as he uses this chance to take out this one Slave trader.
"Geez, shut up will'ya! I'm busy here-!" Before he could finish, a shadow suddenly appear before him, and before he could blink, he had lost his life.
The Slave trader was then dragged away into the dark of the night.
"Hey, why's Grad so late?" One of them asked,
"Who knows...maybe he went to pee?"
"Ahahahah!"
"No seriously, go check him out. I don't want him getting lost in the forest and we'll have to look for the idiot,"
"Geez," Then another went away from the group,
"Hey, Grad! What are ya up to? Don't tell me ya got scared and-! The heck-! Ugh...!"
"Two down...! Two more to go!" Zero thought,
He dragged the corpse away into the darkness once again.
"Hey," One of the Slave traders became suspicious,
And so the other two went toward the carriages, once they stepped closer to the back, they see some blood on the ground.
"The hec-! AGGGHH!" All of a sudden, a shadow rushes out from the darkness and of slashes his legs causing him to fall on his knees.
"F*#$! COME BACK HERE YOU F*$#@&% BRA-! Ugh..," Before he could utter another word, the Slave trader lost his head.
"Shut up...! Don't use nasty words when kids are around," Zero said,
