Hello everyone! this will be my first video game review and I am going to start it off by reviewing one of my all time favorite video games. This game has left such an huge impact on my life back when i played it on the ps3 back in the early 2010s. My family isn't the richest in the world and that means I grew up with kind off old games from the 90s and early 2000s. one of those games were Shadow Of The Colossus, a game i quickly grew fond off in my early teens, everything about this game is close to perfect in my opinion and its time I tell you my honest and pure opinion on a game that along with wind waker made my harder years a bit less painful. So hop on your horses and hold tight onto the fur because this will be a long one!
Genre: Epic Adventure/puzzle solving platformer.

Far from any living civilisation there is an forbidden land long forgotten by the gods of new. the only resident left in this forgotten land is the god of souls... Dormin.
One cloudy night, a lone hawk flies by two longtime companions - Wander and his horse - navigating an unforgiving cliffside path on the edge of a canyon. The two have been traveling for a long time on this offbeat path, through murky forests and wet grasslands alike.
They arrive at last at their destination: a tall stone gate with a narrow passage. On the other side lies an enormous bridge of near-otherworldly construction. The bridge spans over the Forbidden Lands, a dramatic landscape of plains and canyons with enclosed and cut-off environments ranging from arid deserts to clefts with tall geysers to dark forests and murky crevasses.
The bridge finally comes to an end at the gigantic structure in the middle of the Lands. Wander and Agro make their way to the ground floor and the temple's main hall, which is lined with sixteen stone idols. At the end of the empty hall is an altar. Here it is shown that Wander is carrying something with him: a body wrapped in a cloth sheet. He places the body on the altar and removes the sheet, revealing Mono, a young woman clothed in a white dress who has passed away due to unknown reasons... Suddenly a familiar yet eery voice echoes through the halls. Dormin, god of souls.
Wander pleads for his loved one to be brought back to life, but Dormin neglected the request due to it being impossible. but by Remarking that it "may not be impossible" to bring Mono back to life, Dormin makes a deal: destroy the sixteen idols that line the walls of the Shrine and Mono will be revived. The idols can only be destroyed by killing their living incarnations: the sixteen colossi that roam these forbidden lands. Dormin warns Wander that in doing this, the price he pays "may be heavy indeed". Wander's reply is simple: "It doesn't matter". and off he went... with a few instructions from Dormin, he rode off to kill the 16 giant beasts to save the love of his life.

Ok I have alot to say in order to get this off my chest on how much this game has affected my life.
The world itself.
What makes Shadow Of The Colossus a masterpiece and one of the best games ever made for that matter is the fact of how well executed the atmosphere of the game is. The forbidden lands as you might guess is actually forbidden, giving the feeling that you are not supposed to be There .The he only creatures that inhabit this mysterious world are 16 giant colossi, lizards and a few other animals and fruits that upgrade your stamina. But the rest is a mysterious quiet and empty world and its just you, your trusty steed and sixteen fucking giants. which leads me to my next point.
