Kiss on the Cheek (12)

I drive us home and immediately go down to the pod. I sit on the ground and take a deep breath. I grab the scrap and electronics and start building the pod controller. I hum to myself and get into the floor. I look for the cord I left in the floor when I finished the pod. 

I find it and grab the bottom of the controller. I didn't get a plugin for the controller. Shit. Standing up, I groan. I walk up to the living room and see Kenny. 

"I'm heading to town, need anything?" I say softly. He shakes his head and I nod. I walk upstairs to my room and grab my wallet. I walk back downstairs and see Kenny in the kitchen. I smile and he turns his head. I walk to the door and hear footsteps. I turn my head and see Kenny beside me. 

"Be safe," He says softly. I nod and he chuckles. I turn to the door and open the door. Something soft and familiar caresses my cheek. I look over and see Kenny. I smile and his hand leaves my cheek. I lean back and kiss Kenny's cheek. 

"I'll be right back," I say softly. He smirks and I walk out of the house. I get into the car and start up the engine. I see Kenny leaning on the door frame and I smile. I wave and back out of the driveway.
