The next few weeks weren't great for George and Blake. George listened to his parents constantly arguing, Blake felt constantly insecure and didn't eat properly, while Reece, who was unaware of any of this, finally asked out Olivia, the girl he liked.
"I still can't believe she said yes!!" Reece said happily and George smiled.
"Why wouldn't she? I don't think you realise how great you are sometimes." George said quietly and Reece grinned at him.
"Thanks mate." Blake gave Reece a fake smile because he wasn't really listening. George looked over at Blake. He looked at him properly, taking in his skinny wrists, his pale cheeks, his bony elbows and the uncomfortableness he gave off when people looked at him. George sighed, he was right about Blake being insecure about himself or at least definitely right about him not eating but he didn't know how to bring it up after Blake's reaction a couple of weeks ago. He knew he needed to do something soon before it got even worse.
Blake finished eating his apple before getting up suddenly and rushing off to the toilet. George pushed his chair back and ran after him, leaving a very confused Reece and Elliot.
He followed Blake to the boys toilets and his heart dropped when his suspicions were confirmed. He heard Blake being sick. It wasn't like when someone was normally sick, it sounded forced. Blake was making himself throw up the only bit of food he had eaten all day.
"Blake?" George said quietly and he heard some shuffling before the door unlocked and Blake came out.
"Oh hey G." Blake said, washing his hands.
"I heard you." George said. "Being sick."
"Oh yeah, I'm not feeling great." Blake lied and George looked at him.
"Blake, I know you were forcing yourself to be sick. I know you're not eating properly. I know you're feeling insecure about yourself though I don't have a fucking clue why cause you're perfect and I know that I want to help you and it hurts me that you're not letting me." George whispered, tears falling down his cheeks. "So please let me help you B. I would never forgive myself if something happened to you. You're my best friend." Blake was crying too at this point and he threw his arms around George.
"I'm so sorry George. I'm so sorry I didn't tell you." He kept muttering and George just hugged him tighter. The two of them had never been as close to each other as they were with Reece but in that moment, they felt like there was no one else in the world. Just them two. Crying messes, hugging each other like their life's depended on it, Which in Blake's case, it almost did.
