Title: Beauty
It was one of those nights that you spent in Ruki's room. Ever since becoming his fiancée, the two of you would always share the same bed but never once went all the way. Tonight was the same and you wondered if the reason why Ruki never once made a move was because of you.
You were after all a vampire as well, so there was no way he would hurt you; at least physically. You began to wonder if it was because your engagement was set up by Karlheinz and not because of love.
Ruki was always nice to you, though at first he had been cold and even scoffed at your family's reputation for mixing with the humans. Of course, you were no Cullen yourself, being the bloodthirsty monster literature has known in history. But his attitude took a 360 degrees change ever since that man had set the both of you up and you can't help but wonder if it was all genuine on his part.
You were definitely sceptical but along the way, you realised the nice Ruki wasn't so bad after all and you grew to like him as a vampire and as a man.
"(Y/n)?" Ruki's sudden voice startled you. "You're unusually quiet today. Something on your mind?"
"Nothing." Your eyes were still fixated on the ceiling above.
You felt him rustled over and you sense that he was now on his side, staring intently at your face.
"Please don't lie to me." He whispered softly and you shivered at how close he was. "We're to be married. We should not have secrets between each other."
You bit your lips, wondering if it was worth to ruin this peaceful night with your obviously risky thoughts.
"I was just wondering if this is right." You didn't dare to face the man as you closed your eyes. "I mean, why should we marry when this is all nothing but just a set up?"
"Are you questioning Karlheinz's decisions?" You heard the strain in his voice and quickly defended yourself.
"Of course not. It's just... I've always imagined myself raising a family filled with warmth and love, just like my parents. I may be a vampire, but I think I'm deserving of such things too, don't you think?"
You felt him move closer to you and a soft sigh escaped his lips. Did he disagree?
"And I don't see what's the problem." Ruki mumbled softly. "I'll provide you with all that once we're married."
You then opened your eyes and turned to face the man in a sudden moment of excitement. You died to know what was on Ruki's mind.
"But you see," You pressed on. "There is a difference in being genuine and being told what to do."
There was a flicker of confusion in his eyes and the man laughed, twirling your fingers in his.
"Of course I know that." He smiled. "Don't you trust me when I say that I am being genuine?"
"You are?"
"I wouldn't agree to marry you if I didn't at least like you." Ruki frowned when he realised your true feelings. "Why? Do you not like me, (y/n)?"
"I... I do." You were telling the truth.
"Then I don't see why you didn't believe that I do sincerely have feelings for you?"
"Because this was a set up?" Wasn't that the truth anyway? "And besides, if you really liked me, you would have..."
You trailed on before turning pink. What in the world were you going to say? You let go of his hand as you turned on your back once more, closing your eyes while you're at it.
"I would have?" Ruki forcefully turned you over to face him once again. "(Y/n)? What is it?"
When you said nothing, the man sighed.
"Hey... open your eyes." You didn't budge hearing his command. "If you do, I'll tell you something you'll want to know."
You frowned at this sudden proposal and you heard the man laughed.
"Come on, (y/n). You know you want to hear it."
Your eyes reluctantly open at being caught and you found yourself staring again into his handsome face.
"What is it?" You grumbled, all the while thinking that he wasn't being fair.
"If I tell you, will you promise to complete your sentence earlier on?" Ruki took your hands into his again. "Please?"
You knew that if you declined, the man was just going to bother you for the whole night and so you agreed. You nodded your head and the man took a start on his promise.
"Truth is, I fell in love with you at first sight." You furrowed your eyebrows, not wanting to believe this but the man just shrugged you off. "It's true. You were to be one of the Sakamaki's wife so that explained to why I really hated you at one point."
"Childish." The words escaped your lips unknowingly. "Er, sorry."
"It's okay." Ruki's free hand was now caressing your cheeks lovingly. "Anyway, Karlheinz found out and I admitted that I did bear feelings for you. He changed his plans immediately and had you be engaged to me instead."
You found difficulty in accepting the story but there was just no way Ruki would lie. He was definitely not that sort.
"So now... please continue where you left off." His words struck you and you hesitated.
"Promise you won't laugh?" The man nodded and you continued. "It's just... we're engaged and we've never went all the way at all. I thought you were just being nice to me because of Karlheinz, that's all."
His face was a blank and you couldn't make out what he was thinking, Did he find your worries ridiculous? He squeezed your hands a little harder and you waited patiently for him to sort his sentence out.
"I'm sorry if I worried you." His voice was filled with misery. "I guess that was a big deal to you, huh?"
You shook your head at his words. "It's okay if you're not comfortable. Knowing that your feelings are genuine are enough for me. I'm sorry I worried you instead."
Ruki smiled a little before bringing his hands to your waist and he brought you closer to his chest.
"I guess I should be honest." He nuzzled his face against your neck. "I have scars on my back from when I was younger. It's honestly ugly so I'd rather not want anyone to see it, especially you."
You stroked his hair as you heard him pour out his honest worries to you. Knowing the truth now made you seem like you were a selfish person all along.
"Show me." You whispered softly. "We're to be married, remember? You promised no secrets."
You felt his reluctance as the man sat up softly and took his top off.
"Are you sure about this?" You nodded and Ruki bared his back to you.
Seeing it, you realised how strong of a being your fiancée was and you had unknowingly traced his scars with your fingers. His body tensed up at your sudden touch but relaxed when he felt your hug from behind.
"They're not ugly." You mutter at last. "They're beautiful, just like everything about you. They're scars that proved how strong of a person you really are, Ruki. I'm proud of you."
The man now turned towards you, bringing his lips towards yours. He had never kissed you before let alone touch you and you gasped at the sudden intimacy he was showing.
"You're not allowed to say that." His voice was soft but there was a hint of joy to it. "You don't know what your words do to me, (y/n)."
His lips found yours again as he pinned you down, his hands slowly unbuttoning the shirt you were wearing.
"You wanted this." His voice shook with unimaginable passion and lust. "I'll grant you your wish."
Your hands desperately cling on to his chest, craving for every nook and cranny of his body.
You realised how breathless Ruki had been as he managed his words between the hot kisses. "And mine as well. I love you, (y/n)."
