LOVING AND FIGHTING

CHAPTER 8

When we arrive at my house, I lend her one of my bathing suits, and we go to the pool that Noah introduced me too. When we get there, she had the same reaction I had.

when we are in the pool, I was wondering why she doesn't want me to be with Noah so much. "what's wrong" she says in concern. "nothing's wrong, but how come you don't want me to be with Noah so bad." I say as I'm floating in the water. As soon as I say that her smile changes to a serious face in 3 seconds, "cuz he's not the right person you want to be with I went to school with him my whole life and all of his relationships went terrible. They lasted for a couple of months then turned into a disaster every time, I had a crush on him in 7th grade, we dated then he stole my best friend from me and cheated on me with her. And as your best friend, I don't want him to hurt you." she says fastly with tears starting to fill up her eyes.

I give her a hug to comfort her telling her it's okay and that nothing will ever happen between Noah and me, but I know that's a lie because it already has. For the rest of the time, we didn't mention one thing about Noah.

When we get out later and start to walk home, I look at my phone to receive 3 missed calls and 6 text messages from my stepmom. I call her back, and no answer and then I look at the text messages. saying

"Maddison answer the fucking phone."

"where the fuck are you."

"Maddison Luca is hurt answer the phone."

"goddamnit just come to the hospital when you see this."

"10th floor, room b78."

Layla looks at my phone with the same reaction as I had, in shock. What happened to Luca?
