Once we finished our food we sat and talked for half an hour before we were asked to leave because they needed the table. We took a slow walk back home, walking through the park on the way. It was late autumn, almost winter and the trees were bare, the ground covered in a mix of coloured leaves. We decided to sit on a park bench for a while and just watch the world carry on around us.
It must of been getting late, about 9/10 as it was pitch black out. But it was beautiful, the sky was clear and full of stars, the moon was shining bright and it was silent. I lay on Shane's shoulder with his arm around me, I couldn't help but feel safe and protected with him, in this moment.
I couldn't help but think but think how lucky I am to have him, he's so sweet, caring, loving and perfect in every way. This moment is one I will cherish forever, if every day were like this for the rest of my life, it would be time well spent.
The park is so quiet apart from the odd woman walking her dog or couple having a romantic walk. It's crazy to think there are so many people in this world, all with different likes, dislikes, personalities, problems and whole lives. If you really think about it, it shows you just how insignificant you are but also how special. There is a whole world of people out there and your friends chose to be your friend out of everyone in the world, your boyfriend/girlfriend chose to be with you over the whole world. And Shane... Well Shane chose me. Over all the models, youtubers and beautiful people in the world, he chose me, little imperfect, unimportant me. And that is what keeps me going every single day.
Just then something brought me out of my mind and back to reality. A girl was sat at the bench a little down from ours and I felt like she was staring at us. "Probably just a fan girl of Shane's" I thought, but every time I looked she was looking at me. I tried to get a better look of her without making it obvious. She looked about 18 with light skin and I could just make out the freckles on her face. She had beautifully straight, long brown hair that was pulled over one shoulder. I couldn't help but get a shiver as I caught her hazel brown eyes looking straight into mine.
I grabbed Shane's hand and started walking away from the girl without saying a word. Shane started to panic repeatedly asking 'what's wrong' and 'what's going on'. I heard someone walking behind us, faster than we were so they would easily catch up and dressed the way I was I couldn't exactly run through the park.
"Hayley?" I heard a girl shout. I turned around to see the same girl that was out the bench "Hayley?" She said again, stepping under the light.
Hayley: "Kayla..."
