A New Beginning

7 years later...

Yui's POV

I woke up from my dream, I could still hear that woman's voice running through my head. The night just rise, and I slept through the day only because I had work last night too. All the things that woman said includes the past and future. Who is this strange woman? Why do I have dreams about her? My thoughts were interrupted when Ayato wrapped his arm around my waist. I felt calm and relaxed in my husband's embrace.

Yes Ayato and I got married 7 years ago, I am 26 years old. I got to talk Karl Heinz and come to make peace with him. I had to explain to him that my grandfather wanted to kill everyone I loved dearly, which includes Ayato, his brothers, the Mukami brothers and my brother. He accepted the truce and allowed me to marry Ayato. And of course I talked to Karl Heinz in private that I was pregnant with Ayato's child. Karl Heinz took it calmly and was happy to become a well grandfather to the child.

Ayato decided it was best for all us to move to my father's village. In order for all of them to be safe. When my brother and I took them in the village, the villagers were scared to see Karl Heinz and his vampire sons come. However I gave everyone an explanation that we were no longer enemies. All the brothers moved in the castle, lucky for us we had spared rooms. Karl Heinz couldn't stay he had work that needed to be done, but to call him if there was anything we needed. I got a chance to build the bond with me and the brothers, since they missed me so much ever since I tried to kill their father, and apologized to me from treating me as the rest of the sacrificial brides. They even helped me a lot while I was pregnant.

Our little girl was born and we named her Azumi Nishimura Sakamaki.  She looks just like her father, she had curly red hair, and pink eyes. Azumi is seven years old, and I must protect her from my grandfather. I must find out if the powers also went to Azumi. Since my father's powers went down to me, I wonder if the Nishimura's power went to her, even if she's half human and half vampire. If so I'm afraid that she will be in serious danger. I don't want my daughter to end up in my position.

I had to get up, and go to my office to work. I slowly and carefully move Ayato's arm from my waist, trying not to wake him up. I stood up from my bed and I put on white button shirt, along with dark green jeans, and brown combat boots. I got out of the bedroom, and I started to walk to my office, before I went any further. I stopped to peak through Azumi's bedroom door, I felt relief and smiled when I saw her sleeping and hugging a pink stuffed bunny that Kanato gave her for her birthday. I actually went inside, and I quietly walk next to her bed. I stroke her red hair, and leaned in and giving her a kiss on the forehead. "Sleep my little love bug." I whisper, smiling at her sleeping figure. I got out of her room, and left the door a bit open. I went back to walking to my office. My office was close to Ruki's room, once I reached there I quickly got inside, and turned on the lamp that was sitting on my desk. My office wasn't much I just had my desk that was close to the big window, two book shelves filled with a lot of books, and they were a few feet apart from my desk, the furniture that was almost close to the door was one armchair, one sofa, and a coffee table. 

"Alright let's get to work." I sigh out. I move behind my desk, and I sit down on my brown chair.

Mostly what I do was collect calls from the dial telephone from villagers or from other villages, do investigation, and I like to collect a lot of newspapers that a young boy sells in the village, and cut out the important details. I secretly try to look for answers on my own. And I really need to focus on more on getting work done. Of course we have soldiers, but I would also like to take action. The dial telephone rings, and I quickly pick up the phone.

"Hello, this is Yui Nishimura." I answer.

"Hello, this Colonel Rei. I am in need of your assistance. There was a crime tonight in our village, and the wanted assassin is on the loose. The location is outside of your village not far, 249 Broadway Lane."

"Understood Colonel, I'll be there in ten minutes." I hang up the phone. I took out my uniform that I had always used for times like these. I quickly got out of my clothes, and put on a black corset, a dark red jacket, black skinny jeans, and dark brown combat boots. I also put on a gun holster belt, and I put my webley handgun in the holder. I also put my hair in a messy bun. I turned off the light, and rushed out of the room. I quickly got out of the castle and took my horse. My horse ran through the village, and I got close to the force field. I used my powers to open it, and my horse ran through it. The force field closes back in the way it was. 

I could hear the crickets, the river flowing water, and new life growing. Everything was peaceful, and I was glad to enjoy the night. When I got to the address, I got off of my horse, and went to the crime scene. 

"Colonel." I yell out, getting his attention.

"Miss Nishimura, thank god you're here."

"Colonel Rei I must ask why did you call on a simple murder?"

"It's not simple Miss Nishimura, this was a brutal attack." the Colonel took me to the corpse that was covered with a white blanket, and blood had stained it. The Colonel nodded his officer, and the officer lift up the blanket, revealing the body. "The body has burnt marks, and scratches, and was stabbed in the heart. In theory the victim was running away and was cut and burned."

I kneel down close to the body, the victim was a male. "No Colonel. If you take a closer look, the body was not cut then burned. If the body was to burned, the whole body would have been on fire, and his heart is burned. But looking more into the wounds I say that the murder had did this at the same time, and used the same attack for his heart. And if I'm correct I'll say whoever did this wasn't human." I corrected the Colonel. He was actually surprised to having me investigate the wounds.

"AAAAAAARRRGH!" all of us hear a scream and stayed silent. 

The officers and the Colonel went to investigate the scream. Before I ran along with them, I saw a figure running on the roofs. "Over there!" I yell, chasing after the figure. I used my powers to give me a lift on the roofs. I ran and jumped over the roofs, still chasing the fast criminal. Before he jumped off, he turn to look at me. I could actually see him more clearer now. He had dark brown hair, dark brown eyes, he looked slim but tough, and his hands they were black claws. He is the one who killed that man. "Stop!" I yell I reach out, almost close to him. He jumped off of the building and landed on the ground. "I won't let you slip through my fingers." I say jumping off and landed on the ground. He was running again, but I took out my gun and shot him in the leg. He let out a groan, making him limp on his leg. I used my chance to use my powers and pull him to me.

I took out a pair of handcuffs and put them on his wrists. "Wait, you're not one of them, you're not a police officer." the guy says.

"No I'm not, but I made a vow that I would bring criminals into justice arms." I said, pulling the guy up to his feet. 

"I am no criminal!"

"Then why did you kill that man back there, and the other guy so you could escape?" I ask.

"Because those guys killed my parents and my two sisters. I told police about it but they didn't do a damn thing about it. All of them went home, and they said they would protect and serve." 

"I don't like police either, but that doesn't mean that I would kill the guys, and become a murder. I would bring them to justice, and I would be relieved that they would be locked in a cell. There are things on life you must understand, you need to choose the right path. Hear me out, my name is Yui Nishimura and I lost my parents when I was still a baby. They were trying to protect me from my grandfather. If you come with me to my village, I would provide you with shelter, and food, that's if you fight along side me." 

"And what about the police officers?"

"They know who I am, and won't refuse what I have to say."
