I took long strides to the door following Oliver and his long strides. As soon as my foot stepped past the doorway I heard a rumble that shook the house. I looked up to the ceiling knowing I wasn't going to find a trace of the sound, then my next idea was to look outside. I backed away from the door catching the eyes of Clive and Oliver.
"Is everything ok Miss Criers," said Clive with a horse sound to his throat. I felt like I couldn't go inside yet. I turned my hole body to the doorway and sprinted for my life. I could hear Oliver yelling my name from a far but I just kept running. I made my way to the edge of the house. I looked over the ocean and saw a wild bunch of clouds that had purple lighting flashing on and off shaking the earth, and drawing me to the edge of the cliff. I took my last step and found myself at the very edge.
Then I feel a rumble and a shake. I look down to my feet and I see the ground start to sink in where I'm standing, my brain right then and there just decides to freeze and I couldn't move. I was frozen in fear.
Then I hear my name come from somewhere. It was screaming like crazy.
"Avalon! Get away," it was Oliver. He had fear in his voice, I could feel his heart beating threw the ground I stand on. Or what I was standing on.
Then finally my brain unhinged from its frozen state and I could think again. Next thing I knew I was staring down at the beach where a broken wooden boat lay. I turned my head to see Oliver hanging over the edge holding me with both his arms, hands slippery and muddy. I pull my other arm up and grab his hand he freed from my left arm. I started kicking my feet until I felt the dirt wall underneath my combat boots.
I used all my strength against Oliver's strength and I flew up over the edge knocking Oliver onto his back. I was safe on the ground, but not necessarily on the "ground." I finally opened my eyes and all I saw was the face of Oliver.
I started flailing and scrambling to get off of Oliver, as he was doing the same to get out from under me. I sat there in the grass as I feel the rain start to pelt me in the back of my head like someone was hitting me with a broom.
I'm yanked to my feet with suck force from Oliver I didn't realize I was on my feet till I started running.
