I sprint over to the doorway, only to be yanked backwards by my hood and then standing face to face with Oliver's empty eyes.
"Listen," he says to me. Are noses touch and I feel his warm breath on my upper lip. Then I melt to honey in his hands. "If the next few minutes doesn't go as planned then I want you to know something." All of a sudden I'm hopeless. Everything he did earlier just slips my mind, and I can't remember why I was upset in the first place.
"Alright spit it out." His fingers wrap around mine like the vines wrapped around the columns three feet away from us.
He reaches for the side of my head and makes me look him in the eyes. I can't help it, his eyes are just so hypnotizing. I close my eyes and lean my head in, his lips meet mine. Suddenly we are embraced in a kiss. We didn't care about the rain, thunder and lighting exploding around us anymore. It was only us.
But I made the first move and let go. Then the world went cold and dark again.
"No I can't do this!" I'm screaming at him. "I wish I never met you!" I regretted every word. "If we didn't meet, I wouldn't be stuck in this mess at all!" He seems distraught and confused. Then I felt bad.
"But we did meet, and I did get you caught in this mess with me." He completely changed the mood of the situation and the outside world got lighter. "If you want to back out fine but-" I didn't let him finish as I dumped out the box of keys, scooped them up in my hands and ran to the sunlit doorway.
As I walked I screamed to him and to myself.
"You know what this is so stupid I'm done, no more!" I looked threw the keys and lines them up so they went in order like newt, owl, porcupine, elephant. I stick the keys in place and chant.
"N-O-P-E." I turn them and look back at Oliver, the light from the door covers his face as well as his black hair matted to his cheek. Then suddenly the light goes out, and the door slowly slides away.
