Chapter 2: horror stories

Reiner parked his vehicle in the middle of the woods. It was so dark and cold that you all had to huddle together like penguins to keep warmth.

"Hey! Let's make a fire and tell scary stories to start the night off!" Sasha suggested, skipping to an open space in the woods.

"I'll go get the firewood." Says Reiner taking the wood logs out from the back of his van. Reiner placed the firewood in the middle of the wide open space. Everybody sat down close to the fire. You were sitting next to Eren, who has his arm wrapped protectively around your waist, holding you close.

"I guess I'll tell a scary story first!" Said Sasha before sitting down by the fire.

"Don't make it too scary, okay?" Christa said with worry.

"Don't be a baby! Now let me tell you guys what happened in these exact woods!"

"I swear to god, if this involve reindeer jokes like last time, I'm gonna leave." Reiner said rolling his eyes.

"But then we would be left here." You said as snuggled closer to Eren.

"Okay okay, I wouldn't. Now Sasha, tell your story."

Sasha smiled brightly after getting permission.

"Okay! In these exact woods, there were two kids who enjoyed playing in this exact spot. They lived in an old wooden house somewhere around here, alone with a father. Their after was a mad man, once in awhile he would do tests on his wife, who was secretly hidden in the basement," Sasha was making hand gestures to spice up the story. Christa stared at her with wide eyes and shook a bit. Ymir seemed really into this story already, just like the others. You and Eren were listening carefully and only freaked out a little bit.

"One day the wife died, the father grew very angry at that and decided to test on his daughter. In the morning the brother woke up to see that his sister wasn't in bed. The boy stumbled out of bed when he heard a female scream! The scream of his sister. The boy got out of bed and ran to where the scream came from. Slowly..." Everybody waited for Sasha to say what was going to happen. All of them desperately wanted to know what was in that basement! (Lol! Get it? Because... Ya know... No? Okay.. I'll shut up..)

"Ever so slowly... The boy opened the basement door. There, he saw his father looking over his shoulder with blood all over his face, and his sister, his poor sister's face had been cut in half. She lay there on her back, wrapped in chains, on a steel table covered with liquid crimson!" Everybody gasped at this.

"And then father turned to the boy with a knife in his ha-" a rustle was heard in the bushes and immediately everybody froze.

"Come on guys, you seriously believe this story is real? It's all fiction." Annie said before standing up.

"You guys can tell each other your fictional stories, let me know when you're gonna tell true stories." She said before walking back to the van.

"B-but Annie! This is true!" Sasha said as she begged Annie to stay. The blonde girl had already left to go the van. She had disappeared, out of sight.

"I will go check on her." Bertholdt said. He quickly stood up and ran in the direction she left.

"So anyway," Sasha said.

"The father walked up to the boy with a knife on his hand before raising his ar-"

"Guys!" Bertholdt came running back.

"What?" Jean answered for everybody.

"Annie's gone!"

"What? Stop lying dude."

"I'm not kidding! Come with me and I can show you!"

"Fine..." Jean sighed. Everybody got up from their sitting positions and walked towards the van, only to find that Annie was missing.

"What the hell?" Jean whispered to himself as everybody checked in and out of the car.

"Annie?! Annie!" Everybody called.

"Where is she?" Christa said.

"I don't know!" You said.

Suddenly there were the sound of footsteps coming from behind. Everybody turned around in fear.

"Ah... There you guys are.." Said a low voice. Before the unknown person could approach into the light, Jean was throwing pebbles at the figure.

"Be gone! Demon be gone! Reiner get the holy water! Be gone foul beast!"

"Oi brat! You're gonna dirty my clothes!" Said the figure. Jean was flipped onto the ground and immediately a foot was placed on Jeans chest, pinning him down on the ground. The figure pinning him down was none other than Levi.

"L-levi?!" Reiner stuttered out.

"Tch..." Was the only sound that came out his mouth. Hanji was standing next to him.

"HIIII GUYS! WE DROVE HERE JUST IN TIME!" Hanji yelled while waving like a crazy person. Levi took his foot off of Jean and helped him up.

"Seriously... I was invited and this is how you greet me?" He said.

"Levi and Hanji, did you happen to see Annie on your way here?" Eren asked.

"No, why?"

"She went missing when we were telling scary stories. We saw her walk in the direction of the van but she wasn't here."

"Sorry, I didn't see her. Hanji, did you?"

"Nope!" Hanji said.

"Let's go find her then." Levi suggested.

"Check the woods!" Sasha said before marching into the woods with everybody following behind her.

'This is gonna be a crazy night..' You thought.
