Chapter 4: war horse

"Lalala!" Sasha sang while skipping into the forest with the rest of the crew following behind.

"Anybody see her?" Christa asked as she cuddled into her sweater. Everybody shook their heads. Levi looked around bushes and Hanji looked up in the trees.

"Hey guys! I see something!" Sasha skipped faster towards a building within the misty forest. Reiner had brought flashlights for everybody before you and the crew left, so you could only see a beam of light break through the mist. Sasha had approached the building, not just any building, a house, a worn down, wooden house. Immediately you gulped, remembering the story Sasha said, it took place inside a house, a wooden one to be exact.

"Hey, Eren?" You called to him.

"Hm?" He looked at you and wrapped an arm around your shoulder.

"Do you think Annie is okay?"

"Annie? She can kick anybody's ass any day, of course she'll be fine."

"Okay.." You said before walking into the wooden house.

The door creaked and opened slowly, very slowly.

Everybody walked inside with caution, Eren had his arm protectively around your waist, and Armin hid behind Mikasa. Suddenly the door closed with a loud slam. Bertholdt was the only one that yelped, it came out a little bit girly.

...thud...

...thud...

...thud...

...thud...

Footsteps came closer and closer.

"W-Whose there?" Jean stuttered out.

There was a slamming sound from behind the door, causing everybody to look at it. Everybody's attention was drawn to a small girl and the top of the stairs, she giggled and began walking down, her face didn't show at all.

"What the hell?!" You gasped and the change of tone in the girls voice, as the child got closer, her voice became more demonic.

"Make it stop!" Christa pleaded.

"Somebody keep that girl away!" Ymir shouted. Levi tried opening the door, but the door didn't budge. Levi kept repeating his action, only for the door to not budge.

"Move out the way!" Jean shouted, scared to death about the child getting closer. Jean backed up a bit and ran into the door and straight through it. For some weird reason the door didn't lead outside, it led into a dark hallway.

"Nice job, war horse!" Connie said as he ran into the hall with the others.

"Tch, whatever! Thank me later, right now let's find Annie!" He said before turning around seeing that door was repairing into a wall. "Wait a minute.. We will put in total darkness if it closes up!" Reiner said.

"Quick find a light source!" Eren yelled.

You had found a box of matches on the dusty floor, quickly you picked it up. Bertholdt found a torch and handed it to Reiner.

"Here, I found a box of matches!" You said as you handed it to Eren. He took it and quickly took the torch from Reiner, finally lighting it up before being casted into darkness. Finally, light.
