I didn't know there were anymore visitors for Yuuka.
The speed of my heartbeat increased significantly just by hearing his voice. It was as smooth as the melodious music I used to hear from performances.
I wasn't expecting to meet him here for the second time.
"G-Gouenji Shuuya-san," I stood up and faced him entirely. My face might have looked normal, but I was pretty sure my face felt hot. My heart was beating as if I just finished training. Again...with this strange feeling...
"What are you doing here?" he asked with a befogged expression. I couldn't tell if he was showing any particular emotion. He stared at Yuuka's comatose form before looking back at me once again.
"I was just visiting Yuuka-chan," I stated with no hidden means. There was silence between the two of us before I hesitantly spoke.
"W-were you standing there long enough to hear what I said to Yuuka-chan?" I hope he didn't.
"I heard all of them," he sighed before closing the door behind him quietly. I gulped in nervousness as he slowly approached Yuuka, I made a way for him to approach the peaceful girl.
"Do you even know she's my sister?" he asked in disbelief.
I was struck by muteness. Yuuka was the younger sister of the Gouenji Shuuya? That was such a coincidence.
The nurses won'y let me visit the patients because I wasn't related to them or some sort. I had to beg for me to be able to visit each one of them. The only catch was that I wouldn't be notified what their last names were, only their first names.
"I-I'm sorry, the nurses purposely kept all of the patients last names hidden to keep them private," I bowed for forgiveness.
"That's fine," his voice portrayed in lighthearted tone. I was slightly astonished that he didn't laid any suspicion on me. I quietly sat next to him after he took another chair to sit near Yuuka.
"Why are you visiting anyway? I didn't see you anywhere near her before it happened," he stared at his younger sister longingly. His eyes was soft and full of warmth it even melt my heart seeing him like this.
"Well, I and um..." I coughed while averting my eyes from Gouenji.
"we have this thing we love to do. We go to hospitals and visit patients to help them feel better. We avoid the usual visiting hours so we won't bump into their usual visitors, but look at what happened anyway," I stopped for a while and continued,
"We like to keep them company as well."
"Who id the other person you're referring to? Why aren't they here with you?" finally, his sharp onyx eyes settled down on me.
"They're...not here."
"Don't you find joy in accompanying people who needs somebody to talk to?" she said to me with her pretty eyes sparkling like a child.
I hope that won't be just a memory for me to hold unto.
"I'm sorry, it looks like it bothered you a lot," He apologized briefly. I tried to laugh it off blithely. unfortunately, it ended up in a very tense and nervous outcome.
"It's alright, you didn't even knew," I flashed him a big bright grin the ones that I use to assure people from one of my sudden outbursts.
I'm the only person who knew the real reason anyway.
"O-oh, I think it's getting too late," I cursorily stood up and took my bag hanging beside my chair. I leaned closer to Yuuka and grabbed her hand, squeezing it softly.
