Sorry I have not really added to my stories, I was focused on school and now I am going to be a 12th grader in high school. Thanks for reading!

Information

According to verywellhealth.com, the definition of a human life expectancy is the maximum number of years a human can live based on observed examples,  and it varies from country to country. In 2019, the lowest amount of years is a west African country named Sierra Leone with both sexes life expectancy at 50.1 years. Meanwhile, the highest is Japan with 83.7. (United States is at 31 with 79.3 years).

BREAKING NEWS ! A doctor has been testing out a new product and the life expectancy for humans were increased by 250 years, what would change about humanity? Will we all go poor, would we be able to work on more stuff? What do you think would happen?

Poverty & Destruction Of The World

I asked one of my new friends this question, and they quickly wanted me to know that they think poverty would increase majorly. So I asked them, why poverty? In my friends mind, we would use up all the current resources, which would make demands for them to go up, and inflation would happen, which would make prices rise, and the value of money go down. So if there is a lot more people on the earth, especially if people are going to be able to live longer, they would want to have more kids, which would quickly cause overpopulation, and then we use up all the non renewable resources like oil, it would quickly destroy the planet and we would have to survive on things like solar powered equipment?

Diplomatic & Advancement

So now that the world is destroyed, we should turn to something else that doesn't hurt us: Working together. People are now going to be able to live longer, they can start working more together, and with people not worried about dying of old age, they can start working on more technological advancements such as a cure for cancer, or maybe ways to replace what was once non-renewable resources, and even though we can't bring stuff like oil back, at least we can have something that had the same purpose as oil. Also, if we are going to be working together when it comes to technology, and have more people, this means that there will be more people in the workplace being able to get more done.

Old Age Doesn't Fix It

When trying to do research for this question, I also saw a few comments about Dying Of Old Age Doesn't Stop Cancer and stuff, which if you think about it, if the life expectancy was increased, would it just balance itself back out? As you get older, your organs and cells slow down, and it is easier to get diseases and it's harder to prevent them, so if we are going to have to be extending the life expectancy, will that just result in more deaths too?

My Opinion

This is a bit hard for me to get my thoughts out on, because on the one hand, it's no doubt that we will quickly run out of resources, and with a lot of people being able to live longer, and there being an abundance of people , it would allow us to do more testing and be able to advance further in the health world and technological world in order to see what works. I do think that if this hypothetical doctor does make such discovery, it should not be until we have other ways of getting resources, or at least at the time that we are not 100% depended on nonrenewable resources, otherwise I do think that we will quickly run out of renewable resources.
