The Smokehouse

The Smokehouse was rustic, but comfortable, the plush chairs A's and booths. Every thing cooked on an open flame. A family supper, J.W, his wife, Eliza, their children and their dates, J.D, his fiance, Nyssa, Kailee and Junior, Katrina and Phiilip. A round of drinks, beers for J.W, J.D., and Phillip, flavored iced tea for Junior and the ladies. Skye, Jessep and Eli entered the establishment, and were seated. Skye tried to show off her bump. Phillip's attention was on Katrina's ear and neck. A huge appetizer was brought to the table, for
the group to nibble. Skye, her wedding in twenty four hours, could cause a ruckus. The food cooked on an open flame grill, ribs, steak, chicken, and even vension and lamb. The restaurant was owned by Katrina's grandparents. Food was fabulous and fresh. Skye sashayed over to Phillip, to show off her huge diamond. That turned Katrina, off. So, Phillip, having enough of Skye, hit down on one knee and proposed, which Katrina accepted. Joyous, whooping and hollering was heard all over the restaurant, "Old Joe Blackwolf, was about to marry off, his second granddaughter. " First one to marry, tomorrow also was Staci. Her wedding was taste full and elegant.

Delicious aromas coming from the "Smokehouse ", preparing the food for a granddaughter's wedding reception. The church, two miles south of Laypole. The church wasn't huge but it was elegant and decorated with peppermint green and pale lemon. The bride and her party, dressing and preparing for hours.  Another wedding, was being prepared, a smaller group of guests, it seems a less  VIP, event had more guests than the "main event ", scheduled for the same day.   Captain, Mrs. Jenson, their daughters, and her parents were dressed and present for the "black km tie affair, also happening the exact day of the weddings.

       Skye Van Der Veen, became a bride, and a wife, she was hurt, that Phillip Kopus was now, with a woman  that was a beauty.  Katrina, but another wedding was going on in Laypole, the former Captain's son was marrying a woman from New England,  Vermont to be exact.  She was pale and snow, with hair like corn silk, a lofty coldness about her, she thought she was above most of the people in Laypole.  She even scoffed at the pregnant, Mrs.Jenson,  having a baby so late in life to prove, that she still is vital.   A mother again,  and later, a grandmother, either by Kate or her elder sister.
