June 5th 1964 is a day I will never forget. The day when everything took a turn for the worst. The day was going so nicely, I just got done with the community summer band concert and my vocal instructor wanted to hire me to help him with freshmen! Next year was going to be the best school year ever! Or so I thought. I was a senior in high school, and I was so excited what senior year had to hold. As a finished getting the excitement under control after reading my vocal teacher's text, I suddenly remembered John was here to pick me up after my band concert. "Hi Stefani.", John said in an angry voice. "Get in the truck". I struggled to get into the truck because I am a very short person. I finally jumped in, then John turned the key. He began driving but I noticed he took a wrong turn to get to my house. "Where are we going?" I asked. "Shut up Stefani, it is just a shortcut to your house." John replied, sounding annoyed.
