Pure Interrogation

The police came to John's door at 8:00 the next morning.

" We are sorry to invade, but we need to ask a few questions about your girlfriend's murder." The police officer said calmly.

" Sure, but make it quick. I get very emotional."

"One of Stefani's friends said she received dirty looks from you the other day. Is this true?"

"Dirty looks? Oh! That was merely a cat-call. I'm such a flirt."

"What did you and Stefani do when you were dating?"

John stammered and tears started welling in his eyes.

"We... I picked her up from band rehearsal every night.."

"At what time?"

"About 9:30."

It was the perfect alibi. Surely the officer wouldn't think that HE had killed her.

"Stefani was murdered on June 5th."

John balled and wailed.

"Can see how upset you are. We can save the rest of the questions for later. I'll let you calm down. Have a nice day!"

The officer left.
