I jolt awake at the sound of glass breaking in another room of my apartment. I quietly stand up and walking over to my bedroom door, open the door and tip toe out. I peeked around the corner, looking around through the darkness. I send the flames to the closest light switch. When I realized that I wasn't that far from the light. As soon as I turn the light on, my head was slammed against the wall, causing me grunt upon impact. I felt a hand wrap around my neck, trying restricted my air flow but I was able to wrap my leg around their neck pushing him back a little so he couldn't add pressure to my windpipe. I was able to knock my attacker back, causing him to fall and pin him to the ground, using my telekinesis to keep him pinned. I used my telepathy to look through his mind and found nothing. No memories. Just giant brick walls that reached far beyond his mind would let him. I was confused.

"Why do you have no memories?" I asked. He stopped struggling and gave me a confused look. I looked through his memories again and found a new memory. I saw Steve, Nick Fury, and a gun. Next, I see a bloody Nick Fury and an angry Steve chasing my attacker. I frown in confusion. "What did you do?" I asked. Just then, my phone rang. I kept him pinned to the ground as I walked back into my room and grabbed my phone. It was Steve.

I walk back out from my room after having a very short yet shocking phone call, glaring at my attacker. He just looking up at me, probably analyzing the situation to get out of my pin hold.

"You shot Nicky Fury. Why? What's your goal?" I asked, not caring if I hurt him. I was prying through his mind, looking through what I could and breaking down what weak walls I find but I stopped when o found a wall I couldn't break through. "Answer me." I say to him as I walked closer. I guess I must've lost focus in my confusion and anger because he was able to kick me in the stomach. I fell backwards onto the floor, slamming my back on the hard wood floors and losing all focus on my physic pin. I tried to stand up quickly but my attacker pinned me to the ground, using his metal hand on my neck but he didn't try to suffocate me. I saw his eyes, blue and cold yet something about them that felt familiar. We both seemed our snap out of our daze and he began squeezing hard around my neck. Luckily, before he could do any real damage, I flung him out the window with my telekinesis. I took a deep breath and got up to run to the window, trying to see the body on the concrete but saw nothing. I huffed and walked over to the mirror to see what damage was done to me. Nothing too bad, just a hand print bruising on my neck. I quickly healed myself and ran to the hospital.

I ran through the halls, looking for the observing room which has a window to the operating room. I saw a flash of red turn into a room and followed that when I realized it was Natasha. Once I enter the room, I saw Steve and Maria Hill staring at the glass as Natasha panted. I walked to the other side of Steve and turn to the glass. I gasped when I saw Nick Fury on the operating table, and I released a very shaky breath.

"Is he going to make it?" I asked, turning to Steve. He just continued to stare through the glass. Steve took a deep breath before answering me.

"I don't know." I ran my hands over my face and then lean against the windowsill. I was about to ask another question but nothing came to mind. I knew what happened. I fought the assassin. My only question that I could conjure up was 'why did he do it' and 'what was his goal'.

"Tell me about the shooter." Nat demanded as she watched the man who took her in get bullets taken out of his body. Steve took another deep breath before answering her question.

"He's fast and strong. Had a metal arm." Steve explained. I took a breath before speaking.

"He was in my apartment. I think he was there to scout me but in the process of running from you, he broke through my window. I was able to pin him but when I look through his memories that caused me to lose focus and I lost him when my back hit the ground." I explained, turning to face the back wall, choosing not to watch the operation. Natasha took a deep breath giving a small nod and before looking back in the operation room.
