He didn't know how long he had been unconscious, but when he woke up, he found himself strapped onto a table. He didn't feel his body, neither could he move it. But since the woman had taken off his bildfold, he could at least see. He saw his bare chest - noticing again how he really should have taken some more time to work out recently - and small lines on it over his shoulder, rips and side. Exactly there, where she threatened to cut him before.
"how nice, you are awake. I didn't want to start before you regained consciousness, I mean.... Where would be the fun in that?" she grinned, and it send shivers down Gavins spine because she looked so unsettling... Insane, almost.
He watched her fill a syringe again. Gavin was relieved, at least a little, thinking it would be a sedative or at least some painkillers, but his hopes were soon let down.
"don't be relieved, darling. It's adrenaline. It will make you stay awake even if you wish back your unconsciousness, and believe me... You will. But it's just so much more fun to do surgery on someone who's still awake... And feels every little thing i do."
"don't. You don't... You don't have to do this. Please... Don't do this to me. Let me go, I beg you, I won't tell anyone about you... don't do this to me, I don't want to die, don't kill me... Please... I never meant to hurt anyone, just let me... Let me go... I am begging you!" he almost screamed at her, everything that came into his mind and almost becoming a babbling mess, his cheeks wet with tears. He pulled on the ties holding him to the table, but they didn't give in, only held him tight and cut into his flesh.
"Isn't it funny how you loose your pride so fast, I didn't even touch you yet... And you're already crying and begging for your life."
She grinned, her insane expression only centimeters from Gavins face, she held down his left arm- the marks had been on his right one- and pushed the syringe deep under his skin, further than it was needed, he was sure... He just barely held back from screaming, biting his own lip and letting out quiet sobs mixed with heavy breaths.
He felt warm tears running down his face, even more than before. He didn't cry because it hurt, not mainly at least. He cried because he was scared. Scared to die, not to be looked for, to be forgotten... Scared that maybe, Noone would even remember that he existed, or bother that he was gone because he just always had been an ass to everyone.
"don't do this to me... Please..." he begged once more, his voice shivering.
"shh... I don't want to hear anything but screams from you now. Won't you do me that favor?" she laid a finger onto his lips to empathize more what she said. Gavin saw her skin turning to a plain porcelain white, a color which he had seen many times before.
" you're... An android? " he asked, suddenly regretting having begged for his life to an android, something that wasn't even alive on its own.
"I'm surprised you didn't recognize me... I'm North. You heard about me before, I am sure about that. Everyone called me insane, told me that I've gone mad, and if youre told that long enough, again and again, even from the person you're in love with, well ... Someday it just happens. You lose your mind... Go insane... And you got to learn to work with it. I'll make the best of it... By showing everyone what punishment people get who hate Androids."
" the disappearances... That was you?"
She smirked. "so you did hear of me."

"I can't reach the detective, I am really worried by now" nines wandered around the police station, distressed after trying for the 7th time in a row to call Gavin, but finding his phone to be shut off. He originally wanted to inform him that he had left his laptop at work, but now he pre-constructed all kinds of scenarios of what might have happened to him.
"I can't find his GPS either... Someone may have taken him, what if he's the next one who we are going to find dead? I don't want to see him laying in a puddle of blood and thirium, Connor, I can't..." his led was bright red, and Connor once more noticed how his rationality seemed to shut off. "you know him, Nines. He's probably at some bar without any service getting drunk or stoned or..." he didn't want to say the last word to not hurt his brother any further.
"or he's getting fucked by another guy? I know he would never be into me, Connor, but I'm thankful that you take care of my emotions... Well, Software." he sighed and tried once more to call him, once again only getting the artificial voice telling him that the phone couldn't be reached right now. Sighing, he sat down onto the desk and looked at Connor. "could you try to call him too, maybe?" he asked. "of course."
Many phonecalls and ten minutes later, both of them were sure that there was no way to reach Gavin right now.
