"I love you," he said, as he engulfed her in his arms, making her hear his heartbeat.

Lie.

The voice in her mind said. It was never wrong, and she feared that it's correct this time as well.

"I love you, too," she replied, even though it's wrong but seems so right; even though he lied.

Truth.

The voice in her mind responded, filling her mind with questions such as why she wasn't enough or what she did wrong. She did her best for him, and yet she failed.

"It's either me or her. You have to choose," she said, trying not to burst into tears. "If it's me, then breakup with her and be with me; if it's her, then we're over. Easy as that,"

Lie.

It wasn't easy, not for her, of course not. She loved him with all her heart and now he just simply cheats. What a dick.

"I'll give you time until tomorrow morning to decide. Until then, stay with me for the day." She felt pathetic for herself, trying to let him stay even though it hurts.

And so they spent the entire day happily. She was able to get her mind off of the decision to be made by him the next day. They went to the movies, had a roadtrip, and even slept together in her apartment to call it a day.

She fluttered her eyes open, feeling the cold, soft morning breeze come through her windows. Rolling over her bed, she saw nothing but an empty space for another person, she felt nothing but the cold sheets indicating that he must've left hours ago.

She saw a piece of paper on top of another pillow, easily recognizing the penmanship. It was her boyfriend's. She picked it up and read with lazy, hooded eyes,

"I've made my decision. I'm sorry. Goodbye."

Truth.

She saw a piece of paper on top of another pillow, easily recognizing the penmanship. It was her boyfriend's. Well, ex-boyfriend's.
