"You're all IDIOTS! Eijirou is alive. He's been with me the whole time."
"We were all at the funeral. He literally died in your arms." Shoto explained.
Katsuki thought back to that night in the cave, when Eijirou had said his name. There was a piece of that memory that he had long since forgotten, that horrific shuttering breath as the last lungful of air left his body, Katsuki screaming for him to wake up until it hurt to talk. He recalled the funeral, all those people he had never given a shit about giving him condolences as his heart lay shattered on the ground. He shook his head, throwing the memories away. They weren't real. They were just a bad dream he had once. Eijirou was fine. He had been with Katsuki all this time, following him on his journey, giving him advice and keeping him company.
Kissing him on the cheek.
That had been real. These two at the table were lying to him, trying to get him to give up on his quest.
"He's alive." Katsuki insisted.
"You've been hallucinating him, Kacchan."
"I have NOT!"
"Transforming took too much of a toll on his body. His lungs failed and he couldn't breathe anymore." Shoto explained. "How can you not remember all this? Have you been lying to yourself for so long?"
"Eijirou...is fine. He's better. He's okay and we're okay and he didn't die. I didn't lose him." Katsuki rambled, covering his ears.
But it didn't block out the the thoughts.
Eijirou hadn't interacted with anybody except Katsuki since then. He never ate and he never seemed to change.
"He's fine, damn it!"
"Kacchan...you're not well...we can help you. You just need to let us."
"You guys are just fucking liars. Why would you say something like that?" Katsuki got up from his seat. "I'm okay. I've never been more okay!"
"Kacchan, take a deep breath."
"YOU TAKE A DEEP BREATH! I'M FINE."
Deku's wide eyes drifted to the corner of the room where one of the guards stood. He was getting nervous.
"You all need to find something better to do with your lives." Katsuki huffed. He turned around, stomping out of the room. He didn't want to talk to those two anymore. They were liars. Eijirou was fine. Eijirou was right around here somewhere, just getting into trouble like always. He'd probably be shuffling toward Katsuki soon enough, that dumb sheepish smile on his face, joking about how he got Izuku and Shoto to play an awful prank on him.
He would yell at Eijirou for doing something so stupid, and then smack him on the arm, then they would head off to the slums to complete their mission.
Just as soon as he found him....
Where has he seen him last? The baths? Would he still be in there?
How long ago had that been?
An hour? Less than that? Surely he'd be all shrivelled up by now.
This mansion wasn't TOO big. Finding him wouldn't be that hard, would it?
Would it?
