Chapter 6: Book continuation

As I stand there, waiting for her next swing I start thinking again, very hastily I might add.

What if I did hit her back? What if I did win? So... I did. I swung my right fist as hard as I could until I felt it collide with her chubby face. This ends here, and I'm going to make sure of this.

Molly stumbled, knocking into a row of lockers for support. I thought I heard a teacher coming, so I glanced around to check, when I was turning back I felt a harsh sting on my cheek, then my stomach and again in my ribs.

The punches came too fast, I couldn't get myself up in time. Before everything went blurry and I could faintly hear my name,

"Koda! Koda! What happened?! We need help over here!! She's bleeding too much!"

It sounded familiar. A male voice. After a few more yells, I figured it out.

It was Anton, and I could be dying.

Chapter 7

The next time I regained consciousness I was laying in a bright white room, which smelled of old people and hand sanitizer. I was in the hospital. I slowly looked to my left, a black and red digital clock sat on the dest and read '2:37 AM.' I propped myself up onto my elbows and looked around the small room, in the chair by the window I was startled when I saw a shadowy figure.

I heard snoring, it was Anton.

I was about to lay down and go back to sleep when I heard him say something, "Koda?" He said, sleep obviously in his voice. "Yeah, I'm right here." I said, my voice scratchy, I needed some water.

I got up and got a solo cup from the dispenser by the sink and got some, then returned to my spot on the bed, quickly being accompanied by Anton.

"They're letting you go home today. You've been here for about two days now." He told me. Two days? Was he sure? He couldn't be messing with me could he? Not about something like this.

"Oh." Is all I could get out.

"It's okay though, it's only Sunday. Angel and Alex want to see you today, if you're feeling okay that is!" He rushed himself, was he nervous. "We should probably get back to sleep," I said. He nodded and started to get up. I grabbed his shirt sleeve, "wait," I hastily said. Oh way to go Koda. "You can... I mean.. Will you stay here? I mean, not generally at the hospital but here... Next to me?" Anton smiled, and laid back down next to me, wrapping his arms tight around me, until morning came.

"Looks like somebody is ready to get home," a short chipper nurse said when she came in, I had already showered, changed and eaten before she could even get in the room to do her morning check in. "Yes ma'am, I am." I said, waiting for her okay. "Well, I'll go get the doctor and see what he says then." And with that, she gently strided away with a Barbie smile plastered to her face. "You know that's gotta be uncomfortable." I said, somewhat to myself. "What's uncomfortable?" Anton asked confused. "Smiling like Barbie all day, I think a normal smile would be perfectly fine." I said, mocking the smile on the nurse's face, Anton laughed at me. "I don't know, she's gotta nice butt though," Anton joked. "Anton!!" I yelled, throwing a pillow at him. "I'm kidding, I'm kiddingggg!" He said, laughing from under the pillow bomb.

We both stopped laughing, I had a serious question to ask. "What happened to Molly?"

Anton gave me a startled look, "well... Nothing.. I mean.. You know since her parents own that place... The police station.. There was nothing the school really could do.. I'm sorry." He choked out. I looked down, I knew I would be getting beat up again.

"I won't let her hurt you again," Anton said as if reading my mind. "You can't promise that, that's an impossible promise." I said, trying to fight back the tears. With that, the doctor walked in, "how are you feeling, Ko..Koda? Yeah, Koda, how are you feeling?" The doctor asked, "I feel fine, I just want to leave." I said quickly. "Well it's a good thing you can, get your stuff, you're going home!" The doctor said, I jumped up and gave him a hug. I wasn't here that long, but it was long enough to make me go insane.

Anton and I walked through the front doors of the hospital, the warm sun beating down on me, taking away the chill of the hospital. We walked up to a black SUV, "nice car," I said. Anton smiled, "thank you," as he raced around and opened the door for me. "Thanks, but I could've gotten it," I smiled at him. He laughed, "hey, you're just lucky I didn't pick you up and carry you to the car," He joked. "Angel and Alex are waiting for us at McDonalds. Then they want to go see a movie, wanna go? Or do you just want to lay down for a while?" Anton asked me sincerely. "I've been laying down long enough, let's go have some fun!" I yelled happily, making Anton laugh.

"Alright, to the movies we go!"
