Little over a week had passed since [Name]'s encounter with the odd couple on the train on Sunday, and she had yet to spot anything out of the ordinary. For some strange reason, she thought that something would actually happen. But looking back on it now, she laughed it off as a joke by some wannabe thug, and soon, the entire incident was out of her mind.

As she made her way into the kitchen dressed in her Konoha High School uniform, she came across her father sitting at the table with her little twin sisters, with the former reading the newspaper and the latter both eating their cereal.

"[Name], remember that you're picking up Hotaru and Kotori from their piano lessons after work," said her father, ruffling the pages of his paper. [Name] nodded and grabbed an apple from the fruit bowl, taking a bite out of it as she walked out of the kitchen.

"See you tonight!" she called, making her way down the hallway and to the front door.

"Bye, nee-chan!"

"See you later, nee-chan!"

[Name] grinned a little as she walked out into the sunlight, yawning as she soaked it in. Shutting the door behind her and hoisting her bag strap over her shoulder, [Name] took a deep breath of air, then released it with a loud sigh. Her life was just as ordinary as ordinary could get; she lived in a fairly small sized house with her parents and sisters. She got good grades in school; she was top of all the second years. She participated in several sports, including kendo, hockey and volleyball, and was the team captain of the girls' school volleyball team. She had a part time job as a waitress at a nearby restaurant which she balanced with her studies and extra curricular activities, much to the admiration of her peers and kouhai. She was friends with everyone, but only had three close ones, like any normal high school girl would.

The only thing out of the ordinary for [Name] was her appearance. While most girls her age went for the "kawaii" presentation, [Name] went more for a rogue, tomboyish attire, mixed in with a little goth, as seen by her choice to wear Doc Martens to school instead of the standard school shoes. And instead of the cute little bows the girls at her school usually had pinned to the front of their blouses, [Name] often wore a black scarf with multiple necklaces draped within its folds. You could say that [Name] was the fashion icon that the girls revered for her outlandishness.

"Time for school," she muttered, letting out a lion like yawn as she began to saunter down the street.

While [Name] may have brushed off her encounter on the train, the black haired man hadn't.

His name was Sasuke Uchiha, nineteen years old, and the son of Fugaku and Mikoto Uchiha.

The Uchiha name was one feared throughout the streets of all of Japan, being the notorious criminal organisation they were. The fact that that girl had even dared to touch him made the young raven burn with anger at both her brashness and stupidity.

"Shikamaru, have you found out anything about her?" snapped the Uchiha as he stormed into the Nara's office. The pineapple haired man sighed and shuffled the papers on his desk. Sasuke took a seat across from his friend, waiting for an answer. Shikamaru placed the papers into a little manila folder and slid it over to his boss.

"Geez, Sasuke, it's as if you don't have any faith in me," he sighed, watching as Sasuke yanked the folder from the desk and began rifling through its contents.

"It took a week but I can't believe we didn't spot this earlier," continued the Nara boredly, leaning on his elbow. "Her name's [Name] [Surname], started at Konoha when we were third years. I knew her face was familiar. You would too, if you'd actually bothered coming to school last year."

Sasuke merely scowled and continued reading through [Name]'s documents.

"What do you plan to do, Sasuke?" he asked lazily, glancing at the Uchiha. Sasuke looked up from the documents with cold eyes.

"What I told her I'd do. I'm going to make her pay for getting involved in something that didn't concern her," he snapped, shutting the manila folder and getting to his feet. Shikamaru sighed, because he knew full well that [Name] wasn't a bad person and that whatever Sasuke planned to do to her was unreasonably unfair. Like, okay, she had gotten involved in something that was none of her business. But knowing Sasuke, Shikamaru guessed it had something to do with hurting Sakura in the public view.

"How bothersome..." he muttered as he made quick calculations in his mind on what to do. He knew how ruthless Sasuke was; nothing would stop him from making the [Surname] girl suffer as he thought suit. He also knew that [Name] [Surname] didn't deserve anything that was coming her way, and that thought irked him. Ever since he had taken up his position under Sasuke's family as the brains behind their operations, Shikamaru had been impervious to the amount of innocent people that had fallen under their ruthless scrutiny.

He sighed, realising how heartless he really was. And with a small "ugh," to himself, Shikamaru Nara pulled out his cellphone and dialled someone he thought could help.

"Hello? Yeah, hey, Naruto. Did you hear about Sasuke and Sakura the other day? No? Well, I think there's someone you might wanna meet. She might have possibly saved Sakura's life."
