What's up lovelies? It's been a while since I've updated and I've actually missed posting new stuff. I still have to get Lovestoned 6 up. This is a new story that I've been thinking about for a while now so I hope you like it!

Prologue

Solomon sighed as he made his way through the double doors of the hospital, bracing himself for that horribly familiar smell that all hospitals seemed to carry. It didn’t help that he hated them either; too many bad memories connected to them. But he had to be there for his wife, Rebecca. She was suffering from stage 4 breast cancer, and the doctor had told him that time was rapidly winding down for her. A lump formed in his throat at the thought of losing the love of his life. How would he move on? How would he explain her death to their 6 year old son Mickey? As he made his way into the room, he was greeted by the nurse on duty and he couldn’t help but stare at his wife who was sleeping peacefully on her bed.

“Hello Mr. Olds. How are you feeling today?” she asked him.

“I’m feeling okay. How is Rebecca doing? Has she had any trouble at all?” he asked nervously.

She clutched her clipboard close to her chest and said, “Well…she has been coughing a lot more lately. Dr. Reed said that he will be stopping by later on to speak with you.” She quickly glanced at her clock.

“That should be in about 15 minutes. Miranda is the nurse that will be taking over in a few minutes so if you need anything, just call for her,” she said.

He nodded and grabbed a chair and slid it over to the side of the bed. He gently grabbed his wife’s hand and tried to fight the tears that sprung up in his eyes. Solomon sniffed a bit and she started to slowly open her eyes, a weak smile spread across her face.

“Hey Soli, baby don’t cry,” she said.

“Oh sugar, I just hate seein’ you like this. I love you so much,” he replied.

She coughed a bit and said, “Soli, will you do something for me honey?”

He sniffed again, “Anything sugar.”

“Babe, things aren’t looking too well for me right now. I’ve been fighting this thing for a long time—“

Solomon cut her off and shook his head, “No, no. Do not talk like that. You can still fight Beck.”

She shook her head and her eyes started to water as well, “Soli, no baby. I’m so tired of fighting. You’re gonna have to accept that this is it for me. I don’t like talking like this either but it’s my reality. And as much as it hurts, I have to go.”

He could not stop the tears from streaming down his face as he shook his head. He wanted to say something so bad, but he was totally speechless.

“Promise me that after I’m gone that you’ll take really good care of Mickey,” she continued.

“Of course sugar,” he managed to say.

“And another thing, after you’ve had time to grieve I want you to find love again. I don’t want you to hold on to me. You’re such a big hearted guy, and I want you to have a chance at love again,” she cried.

Solomon grabbed her hand a little tighter and laid his head down on her stomach and wept hard as she ran her fingers through his dark hair. How could she ask him to do such a thing? He was sure that he would never be able to love another woman ever again.
