"She's The One" {Jenni x Sydni}

3) Trauma

After I finished eating, I got up and went to throw the styrofoam tray away. On my way back to the table I glanced over at the Gossip Girls, they were laughing and pointing at something. I wasn't put off because I had thought they just were laughing at a funny joke someone made, but then I realized what they were pointing and laughing at. Sydni, practically breaking down, sobbing.

I made my way back to the table as fast as possible and sat next to Sydni to comfort her and calm her down. Some people from my class glanced over and stared at us, some with disgusted looks on their faces, some rather surprised looks. Even a few teachers had glanced over. I managed to get Sydni to calm down and she told me what happened. Rebecca had heard our whole conversation and when I left, Rebecca started to scream at her and call her 'gay trash' right to her face.

Sydni suggested telling the counselor, but we were in an all Christian school so that would most likely make everything a whole lot worse. The problem was, there was nothing much else to do so we decided we had to try to explain to the counselor.

We each filled out a slip and handed it to the teacher to turn into the counselor, then we got back to our assignment. About 15 minutes after the teacher got the slip, the counselor came to pick us up. I glanced at Rebecca as I walked by her, I could tell she was holding in a laugh.

Once we got into the hall, we started heading towards the counselors office. About halfway there, the counselor finally broke the silence.

"So I suppose you two have never been to my office before, Si?"

Me and Sydni both nod.

"I overheard what happened to you two at lunch, I'm assuming those six girls are troubling you, Si?"

We nod again as we walk into the office and take a seat.

"Since you both may not know me, I am Ms. González."

"Can you tell me more about whats going on between you two and those six girls?"

We explain how were both lesbian and how the six Gossip Girls spread rumors and now everyone hates us.

"What are their names? I'll have to speak with them"

I slowly list all of their names; Rebecca, Sophia, Diana, Alex, Ari, and Rosie. Ms. González jots the names down and gets up, our cue to get up as well. She walks out of the room and we follow her back to the class. We rush in first as she calls out the list of names I gave her. As she says Rebecca's name, Rebecca glares at me, then gets up and walks over next to Ms. González. She finishes calling out the list of names then turns to Me and Sydni, smiling. I then finally notice a pin on her shirt, with a rainbow backdrop that reads 'Safe Space'
