In this part, you will know the difference between the "ng" and "nang" that some Filipinos are also confused about, Let's get started.
NG - as i've stated in the previous lesson is used to the object/thing where the verb is taking action or the object involved in the said verb.
Example:
BUMILI SI LISA NG LIBRO.bumili - bought (verb)
si Lisa - (subject)
ng libro - book (object)What did Lisa bought? A book.
SUMAYAW SI LISA NG BOOMBAYAH.
sumayaw - danced (verb)
si Lisa - (subject)
ng Boombayah - (noun)What did Lisa danced? Boombayah.
NANG- is used to know HOW is the verb performed. Like adverb. Nang can only be used in action words unlike ng.
TUMAKBO SI SARAH NANG MABILIS.
tumakbo - runs (verb)
si Sarah - (subject)
nang mabilis - fastly (adverb)Therefore it translates to : Sarah runs fastly.
OVERALL EXAMPLE:
KUMUHA SI ALLYSA NG LIBRO AT BINASA NANG DAHAN-DAHAN.
kumuha - gets (verb)
si Allysa - (subject)
ng libro - (object/noun)
at - and
binasa - reads (verb)
nang dahan-dahan - slowly (adverb)Translate : Allysa gets a book and reads it slowly.
