Walking to school is a new and fun experience. The birds were singing and the autumn wind blew through my light blonde hair. People always asked if I dyed my hair. I don't, my family had always been amazed by my light hair, so I promised to never dye it. I told my mom that, and so I know I can't break that promise.
I wander into the school and the halls are larger than I imagined. Of course as soon as I turn I bump into someone, knocking my bag and book out of my arms."Oh my god, I'm so sorry!" I exclaim and drop to the floor to pick up my things. I look up at the large figure towering over me.
"Watch out, freshie." He snorts. My mouth drops to the floor and I try to regain any dignity I had.
"I'm not a- I'm actually-" I stumble over my words and he just glares at me with his dark eyes.
"Shut the fuck up." He laughs at me. I won't let him put me down on my first day.
I look him straight in his eyes, his dark brown, almost black, eyes and rise from the ground. We keep eye contact for a few seconds before I speak up, suddenly aware of my returning voice."This is my first day at this school. I'm not going to let you ruin it, okay?" I snap at him. He doesn't say anything, but I can tell by the way his eyes shift that's he's surprised by my retaliation. "That's what I thought." I say and give him a sarcastic smile. When I turn to walk away I feel a hand grabbing my forearm and turn back.
"Don't talk to me like that, little girl." He says and sends shivers down my spine.
"I'm leaving now, and you're going to let me go, knowing that I won this, got it!" I raise my voice. He just scoffs.
"Ok,"
I turn and walk away but I hear him mutter.
"Little girl"
That boy annoys me already.I need to get to my locker and first class. After about ten minutes of asking directions and navigating, I made it to my locker. I shove all my stuff in it and shut and lock it, careful to keep the things I think I'll need for my first two classes.
"Hey." An unfamiliar voice behind me greets me. I jump slightly at the sudden approach but turn to face the other student.
"Hi?" I greet back. I have no clue who this girl is. She has deep brown roots that lighten into a light brown ombré pulled out of her face, courtesy of a small shiny headband. Her eyes are a beautiful light blue and are very big, they're gorgeous. She looks like she could be a model.
"I saw your little... fight? With Nick back there and-" she starts before I cut her off.
"Nick? Is that who that was?" I question.
"Oh are you new? I thought so, you don't look familiar. Anyways, yep that's Nick, Nickolas Young, the biggest dick in the school." The stranger rambles on.
"Yeah, I'm new here, the name's Juliette." I smile and stick out my hand to shake hers.
"Hi Juliette, I'm Lauren." She says and shakes my hand with a laugh.
The bell rings ending our brief conversation. Oh shoot, I'm going to be late, so late.
"I'm sorry to run out, but I need to get to my first class, I can't be late and the passing times here are shorter than my old school, I'll have to get used to that." I mumble.
"Ok, see you later. What's your first class?" She asks me as I begin to walk.
"Oh, uh, AP English." I've always cared about my grades, my appearance, my life.
"Woah, same! Walk with me?"
"Yeah, sure." It's nice to know I have a shot of making a friend here.
We begin our walk and exchange social media's on our way. As soon as we reach the classroom, right on time I might add, we find seats next to each other in the second row. It will do."Hi, how was everyone's summer?" The teacher starts. This day will be great, I promise myself.
