You Ruin Me

Chapter 4

The next two class periods go fairly quickly. Time to go to lunch.
Walking to the cafeteria I see Lauren and approach her.

"Hey! How were your morning classes?" I ask with a smile.

"Good! You?" She returns.

"Pretty good, I saw Nick in PE. It was really annoying."

She raises an eyebrow at me.
"Did you do anything to get his attention? Or did he just start annoying you?"

"I just started reading and he came over and took my book. And then he lifted it above my head so I couldn't get it." I explain with an eye roll.

"Hm. That's weird, he never does anything unless someone does something to him. He must've found a liking to you." She laughs.

"Whatever. Let's get to lunch." I reply and giggle a little. We head into the cafeteria and get our food.

"Hey who's that?" I ask my friend when I see a guy sitting alone at a table. He is darker and is wearing a light blue button up and khakis. He looks really nice, and lonely.

"That's Jonathon. He's kind of outcast since he came out."

"Let's go sit with him!" I cheer

"Oh, ok..." she replies, sounding unsure, but we walk over there nonetheless.

"Hi!" I greet. I need to make a good impression.

"Hi? What are you guys doing?" He questions.

"We saw you were lonely, so I thought it would be nice to give you some company." He nods as I talk.

"Ok, well I'm Jonathon, or Jon."

"Hey Jon, I'm Juliette."

"And I'm Lauren!" She speaks for the first time in this exchange.
We all laugh and Lauren and I sit across from Jon.

"So this girl, got in a fight with Nick! Nickolas Young! Her first day here!" Lauren tells Jon.

"What!? How does that even happen?" He looks between us.

"I just bumped into him and he keeps bothering me." I shrug and take a bite of an apple.
Jon just nods and takes a bite of his food.

"Let's play a game!" Lauren says out of no where.
What?
"What game could we play at lunch?" I ask and look at her like she's insane. Because she is.

"I don't know, ISpy, Truth or Dare, there's a few things. It's just so boring." She laughs.

Jon speaks up, "Truth or Dare! Let's play Truth or Dare."

"I- okay fine." I agree.

"Yay!" Jon and Lauren say at the same time.

"Okay, Jon you're first! Truth or Dare." Lauren starts.

"Uh... um, truth."

"Ok, have you had your first kiss?" Lauren asks

"Yes, let me tell you the story," we all laugh, "it was the majestic seventh grade. I had just figured out I was gay and there was another guy in my class I had heard was gay. Long story short, I made friends with him and one day while we were hanging out I kissed him. Turns out, he wasn't gay." He tells us.

"Ooh, ouch." Lauren says.
I can't talk I'm laughing so hard.

"I- oh my god. How does THAT happen." I laugh
He just shakes his head and smiles.

"Lauuurennn, you'reeee nextttt." Jon says in a sing song voice.

"Alright, alright, dare." She says mischievously.

"Okay, I dare you to chug this can of energy juice." Jon says and sticks out an unopened can of  Redbull.

"Oh my- okay okay. Maybe it'll give me wings." She says with a laugh and wink.
She downs the whole can and then her head drops to the table.
I point her a few times.

"Hey, are you dead?" I say with a chuckle. She lifts up her head.

"No no I'm good." She responds and bursts into a fit of laughter.

"Juliette! You. Are. Next!" Lauren says through laughs. "Truth or dare?"

"I'll do dare." I say boldly.

"Ooh, okay," her eyes scan the room. "I dare you to go up to Nick and slap him."
My jaw drops to the table, and at this point I think I've lost it.
"Uh.. what.?"
