What the hell had I landed us into? Our mission hadn't even started yet and it was already going horribly wrong. Apparently, Ned found out from Peter about what happened over the weekend. Because once I walked into school, Ned bombarded me.

"How can you not tell us about being a mutant with the power to control air?" Ned asked me when I walked into the school.

"What?" I asked him as we walked to my locker.

"You're a mutant with the power to control air. That is so cool! You're like Tenzin from Legend of Korra! Why didn't you tell us?" Ned asked.

"Because I'm a mutant. Because there is still the whole debate over Mutant Rights." I explained to them.

"By why didn't you tell us about," Ned leaned in before whispering, "being Tony Stark's goddaughter?"

"Because it's weird. Oh, by the way, my mom was Pepper Potts college roommate, and I now live with Tony Stark because my mom died when I was eight. Oh, and I may have caused her death. Nothing to be concerned about." I said.

"That has everything to be concerned about, [N/N]." Harry said popping up fron behind me.

I almost punched Harry Osborn in the face because of it. I know what I did now. Harry explained it to me, and still brought up the red eyes. All I had to go off of were my red eyes and air-based abilities.

"Hi, Harry." said Ned.

"Hey ... Ned. Do you know where's Peter at?" Harry asked my asian friend.

I noticed how Ned's shoulders began to slump and his eyebrows drooped. I wonder what that is all about.

"N-N-No. No, I don't. Why don't you ask, [Y/N]? She seems to always have his schedule. Memorized." Ned said looking at me.

"Dentist. Something about his wisdom teeth." I lied.

In reality, the truth was Peter is at SHIELD with Steve, Maria Hill, and Nick Fury looking for information to help me with my issue. In the midst of that, Tony, Bruce, Natasha, and Clint are looking into the Green Goblin. My fault. Always my fault.

"Okay?" Harry said with a raised eyebrow. "Anyway, the next time you see him, can you tell him I need to see him? I don't have his new number and this is important."

I just noticed the envelope with Horizon High written in fancy letters in the top left corner. Peter Parker was written in the center. He applied? And got in? This early? The deadline hasn't even past yet!

"Sure. I'll tell him." I assured Harry.

"Thanks." Harry smiled before leaving.

I turned towards Ned. "What was that about?"

"Nothing. It's nothing." Ned said.

He was obviously lying. I should know. I've been lying since day one. Plus, I know his tell. It's a twitchy nose.

"It's not nothing. What's wrong? You can tell me anything. I won't tell anyone if you do. I don't spill secrets." I told him.

"Yeah. Because you're so good at keeping yours." Ned said.

"That was a low blow, Ned. Even for you."

"Yeah, sorry. So, I'm upset."

"Figured as much."

"Because I think that Harry is going to replace me as Peter's best friend."

"Understandable, but you don't have to worry."

"Well, ever since Harry got back, he's been spending more time with him."

"That's because Peter hasn't seen Harry since the summer before freshman year. He's going to want to spend time with him afterall. It's only understandable."

"Yeah, but-."

"I trust that Peter won't toss you to the side. No matter how much money Norman Osborn tosses at him. You have to trust Peter. For my sake."

"It's not just that. I think Harry is the one behind it. He's trying to push me out of Peter's life."

Harry trying to push Ned out of Peter's life? That's something I've never heard before. But it's definitely not unheard of.

"That won't happen."

"How can you be so sure?"

Because I know how this will end. It'll end with your worries not even mattering. I was going to answer, but my phone beeped.

I think we found something.

"I'm sorry. I have to go. Peter needs me." I told him.

"Okay. Go. I suspect the dentist was a lie."

"Avenger business." I said.

I made a dash for the doors, ran out of school, and continued running towards Avengers tower. Happy was there most likely waiting for me to get here.

"Come on. Tony thinks he found something that could help you." Happy explained.

Help me? My quest for self-discovery continues.

"So, you found something?" I asked the room of Avengers, my boyfriend, Nick Fury, and Maria Hill.

"Yes. It's a cave." Steve explained.

"A cave? Really?"

"Verum spelunca." Maria said. "It's Latin for Cave of Truth."

"Is there a legend or something?" Most adventure books had a legend behind weird locations and objects.

"Three tests before you get the truth. Each one harder and more daunting than the last." Of course. It's always the more daunting than the last.

"Alright."

"We're going with you." Tony said.

"Who's going with me?"

"Me, Bruce, Steve, Nat, Clint, and Peter." Tony explained.

And with that, the plan was set. I didn't know that it was going to end the way it did. Because I just broke my way of life. Even if I didn't know it then.
