I think the chains might be hurting . I don't really know. I don't regret anything. Why should I? I just wanted my mother back. Nobody cared. Nobody else would try. Not even Elleston. Her own son, and my brother.
Everybody is staring at me. I'm walking straight through the middle of the crowd to the stairs. they're all looking at me. They think im a monster.
I'm okay with that.
I was never good at alchemy. I'd never tried. It seemed self explanatory.
I drew the circle. I stood in the center. What was I supposed to do next? Something to do with mother. I started singing a song she sang to me, All the Dead Ones.
People are spitting at me. I won't look at them. They don't deserve it. The guard keeps pushing me forward, even though I'm fine with it. I'm going willingly.
Nothing happened after the song. I sang it twice. Then I realized I needed a part of her. Something big. Her brain? No. Her heart. I wasn't going to go dig her up of course, I only needed something of her ancestry. I wasn't going to give my heart, though I would've if I could, but I needed to finish this work. Then I realized; Elleston.
The steps. We're at the steps. He keeps pushing me, the guard. I look up and I see the man. With the axe.
I confronted Elleston. I told him what I needed from him. He told me to stop trying, there was nothing earthly that could bring her back. I threatened him. He called me mad. He said mother was mad too. I'd show him. I warned him.
He was sleeping. I used one of mother's old knives to do it. Then I brought back the heart to the circle. People would discover Elleston soon. He brought it upon himself. I had warned him.
I put the heart in the center. I sang the song again. Twice. Thrice.
Nothing.
There was a pounding on my door. They came to tell me my brother was dead. Then they saw the knife and the blood and they knew.
They're putting my head on the tree stump now. I look up. I see mother! She's in the back. I call her name, i tell her i tried, i knew that was what she wanted. Shes walking, no, drifting towards the front. Nobody sees her. Shes standing in front of me, but shes not there. She doesn't say anything, but I can hear her.
"No, Dastor."
A man is announcing my name and my crime. The axe is being raised. The other stops speaking.
I think-- I think--
I'm sorry Elleston.

Dastor
FantasyThey ask me why I did it. For mother, I tell them. I'm sure it's what she wanted. I know it's what she wanted. Even if it didn't work, I tried. For her. He didn't listen. He didn't understand why I, WE, needed her back with us.
