Morning came quick the sun was out and shining. I sat up, Beckett was still sleeping. I stretched and looked over at him he looked peaceful, his medium length black hair laid a mess under his hood on his jacket. Looking at him now he was actually pretty cute. I smiled, Drax noticed I was awake and looked up. "You probably need to go the the bathroom." I said and he got up. I opened the door and he jumped out. Beckett woke up, I put on my jacket. He stretched and sat up yawning " Morning" he said "Morning" I replied.

I pulled my back-pack onto my lap and pulled out two cans of food, they were the last too. "Well, these are it." I sighed and handed Beckett one of them. Drax came back panting, it was warm outside. The birds chirped, Beckett and I opened our cans. I gave half my food to Drax, it was a can of clam chowder. " Thanks." I told Beckett. " For waking me up." I added. " No problem." he said

When we were finished eating we packed and left. Walking in almost complete silence I kept thinking of sleeping next to him. I kept trying to shake it out of my head. In survival there isnt anytime for love. We walked for hours it was about mid day, we hit another town. Killing a few roaming walkers we entered the small town. The first place we checked out was a gas station, it was empty except for a single water bottle. Grabbing the water bottle we moved on.

We found a Goodwill that didnt look thrashed, we checked inside, no walkers. We rummaged through the place, grabbing a couple re-usable water bottles. I grabbed a couple pieces of different clothing and another back-pack we were there about an hour before leaving. With our luck we found a grocery store.

Luckily we found a couple more cans. I found some dog food, I cut the bag open and let Drax have at it. I shoved a couple small packets in my bag for later. Drax ate a lot of the food which wasnt a surprise because he was hungry. I walked around and grabbed a couple flashlights and boxes of batteries. Somehow i ended up in the toy section, I seen a little teddy bear that looked just like Sophia's. I picked it up, a tear fell down my cheek. I wiped it away when I heard Beckett walk up behind me.

"Ready?" he asked "Yea." I replied. "Lets get out of here." he said. I put the bear down and walked ahead of him. Drax growled I drew my katana, he was looking into darkness. I pulled out a flashlight and turned it on, a walker ran out. I shoved it into an isle it hit the shelves and they started falling, Beckett grabbed my waist and I fell into his chest the shelves barely missing me. I took a deep breath. "Thanks"  i said " No problem" he smirked, I looked at his face it was young but old like he was forced to grow up sooner than normal.

We stood there for about a minute before he let me go and we both smiled awkwardly. I tucked my hair behind my ear and smiled looking down. We left the store. Moving on we didnt speak, we kept our thoughts to ourselves. "What if I like him?" I asked myself then shook my head. "No i couldnt we just met and its the apocalypse there is no time for love only surviving." I told myself.

Dusk slowly approached. We found a house to sleep in for the night. It was warm inside, clouds rolled in and it started to rain. I pulled out another flashlight and put batteries in it.  "Here" I handed it to Beckett. "Thanks" he took it and turned it on. We checked the house out, it was one story and small, but it had three bedrooms. When everything was clear we started a fire in the fireplace and boarded the door up.

Drax layed down next to the fire. Thunder rolled in the distance, it made me jump a little. "You okay? You're not scared of thunder are you?" Beckett asked in almost a teasing way with a small smile. "Actually I am, I dont like it because of when my family lived on base and we heard the bombs when they were training. I also dont like tornado sirens either, so there you have it i am scared of some things." I told him

We ate in silence. When we were finished we grabbed out blankets from the other rooms, since there was a fire place we decided to stay out there with the only source of heat.  We got everything situated and layed down. I was asleep in minutes. I tossed and turned every time thunder hit, it kept getting louder every time. Morning came very slow.
