Skullara's POV

Every beginning of each summer, we get to go on a trip away from OurRoad. My friends and I always go together and never let others be sad and alone at home. After the last day was over, we would always group chat and tell each other what to bring and other things like that. "This is gonna be the most interesting summer ever!" Amanda said, getting her things from her closet. I looked at her confused, "Why do you say interesting? You usually say best or greatest or something along those lines."

She looks at me through her screen, "I know but do you remember what happened the past summers when I said 'greatest' or 'best'?" I knew what she was talking about. We all did.  Last summer she said that it would be our greatest summer trip ever. But, in the end, a storm hit the place we were staying at and a branch broke through the window of our room.

I tried to stop the branch from hurting the guys so I pushed it out with my bare hands. I ended up in the hospital because the branch still had glass and twigs hanging from it and it ended up cutting my hands open. My hands still hurt when I think about that day. I shook my head and paid more attention to what to bring to the trip. After a long day of packing and chatting, it was time for me to sign out. I said goodnight, did my nightly routine and headed for bed.

The next day, we met up at school and went to the buses. From there we continued to talk, laugh, joke, tease, and other weird crap. Still... I felt a pit in my stomach since that day with Emily. I want to tell them but if I did..... what would they say? I talked to everyone to get my mind off of it and then we made it to the place. It was such a beautiful mansion. When you go in through the gate you are greeted by a fountain with a mermaid on top.

The house was so huge and beautiful. Vines twirled down from the pillars with gorgeous flowers hanging from them. I felt like a knight being introduced to their castle for the first time. Our teacher allowed us to choose a 3 person group of our own. So we girls roomed with each other and the boys did the same. We all unpacked and went down to the kitchen to eat.

Our rooms were attached to each other by our balcony which was where an amazing view of the moon and sunrise and fall. There was also a pool we could look at from the balcony too. "This place is so beautiful!" Amanda said in aw, "nothing can compare to you..." Drew mumbled under his breath. I guess Amanda was the only one who didn't hear him cause she just asked, "What was that Drew?"

Drew, of course, blushed a deep red and quickly answered, "O-oh nothing! I just said that I am excited about this summer that's all!" He awkwardly laughed and the rest of us smiled at each other. After we ate they all got tired and went to the rooms to sleep. I also went into the room but just stayed near the window next to my bed and the balcony. I stared at the bright, white moon at its very beautiful and blacked out.

For three days I woke up soar and with a few bruises on me. The third day I changed and went out to check on everyone else. I stopped as soon as I heard the woman on the screen say that a man was attacked outside his home. I got close to the wall and continued to listen. "Another man was attacked outside his house last night as he was off to pick up his daughter from the local theater."

The camera was on the man who was horribly injured and on an ambulance bed. "Please sir, tell us what happened last night." She put the microphone to his mouth and he tried to explain, "It was a wolf, but not just any ordinary wolf, it was huge! It had fur as black as the night and had blood-red eyes..." He paused and started hyperventilating, " IT WAS A MONSTER!!!!!" He screamed. I put my back to the wall and covered my lips. I could feel my eyes get wider and wider. I closed them shut and ran to the bathroom and looked at myself in the mirror.

That man was right about it being a monster...... But that monster.....

Was me...
