I was waiting for the new VKs to arrive bright and early, dressed in my usual leafy dress with splashes of blue to compliment my eyes. Harry was practicing sword fighting with Jay and Lonnie, telling me he needed to sweat out his nerves because of our first official date that night. I already knew he was planning a picnic under the stars in the crow's nest of the Jingle Bell and that he had no idea how to "date". He searched everything up online and I reassured him that as long as I'm with him, everything will be perfect.
"Hey, Terry." Phoebe greeted with a wide smile.
"You're very cheerful for someone who's not a morning person." I pointed out and greeted her with a hug.
"I am a morning person when I have a date in-" she checked her watch, "Oh, nope, he's late. Never mind. It's still a date though."
I gave her a suspicious look, "You never did tell us who your date was at Ben and Mal's engagement party. What are you hiding?"
She opened her mouth to speak when Chad almost tripped and fell at our feet, "I'm here! I'm here! I did not get lost, no I didn't." he dusted himself off and suddenly realized he forgot something, "Darn, I forgot your flowers! I'll be right back."
He ran off again and I gave Phoebe a 'really, him? ' look.
"Okay fine, he's not the best looking guy in the school." She sighed in defeat, "Plus I didn't mean for this to happen! All I did was asked him if he was okay after Audrey broke up with him, again, and since then he was obsessed with me! But, I have to admit, he's good to me. He's actually adorable when I come to think about it..."
"Well, you know what I always say." I smirked at her, "Goodness comes in stages. Have a little faith. Although, I have no idea what stage is he on."
Phoebe nodded in agreement, "I should probably go after him. Someone should tell him that the dorms are the other way. Good luck with the new VKs!"
Just as Phoebe's spot was taken by an almost late Dizzy, the limo stopped in front of the school, the chauffer not even bothering to open the door, since he's learned his lesson with the previous VKs. Uma was the first to get out of the limo, seeming everything but impressed for having to attend this preppy school.
"Welcome to Auradon Prep." I greeted them warmly, "I am Terry, daughter of Tinkerbell and Terence, royal advisor to King Ben and Queen Mal and your new best friend. Your schedules will be given to you shortly and it is absolutely necessary for you to attend every class. The dorm rooms are separated, no boys and girls are allowed to share a room and need to leave each other's rooms at 21:00 sharp. Dizzy here will show you to your rooms."
The four VK girls didn't respond much, except for Freddie who immediately started to search the garden for frogs, not even caring to find her dorm.
"Oh, Uma?"
She turned to face me, "What?"
I handed her a bag of books, each filled with the notes I made in every Goodness 101 class, "These are every note I've ever written down in Goodness class. Don't tell the other girls I gave you a head start though. I only have one copy of each."
She eyed me suspiciously, "Uh, thanks?"
I smiled and threw my arm around her shoulder, leading her towards her dorm next to mine, "You want to know what I live by?"
She shrugged and I took it as a yes.
"Good is better and better is best.
That's my motto so learn it by heart.
I'm not going to give up on you, Uma,
So you better start.
Because goodness, it comes in stages.
If your first mate could do it, so can you.
Come on, Uma, give it a try.
I believe in you, please, prove me right.
Uma, you're not a mistake.
Some people just learn to swim a bit late.
Call it crazy or a bit absurd,
But I believe we were brought together by fate.
So let me help you to become the best you can be,
Have a little faith and believe in me...
