Mutual Attatchment

Chapter 1

Somin burst into a fit of laughter at what Taehyung had told her as they were walking out the school grounds on Friday after school. They made their way along the pavement walking to Taehyung's house where they would spend the night finishing homework, goofing off and having a movie marathon till 3 in the morning.

Somin and Taehyung had been best friends since preschool. Tae was never really the stereotypical boy and naturally gravitated to the girls to play with. Somin met Tae on the first day of grade 1 when they were put in the same class and they've been inseparable ever since.

Somin brushed her loose brown locks out of her face that had gotten there due to looking down at her books too long. She and Tae were both top students not because they were particularly smart but rather they always motivated each other to do their best in school.

Taehyung sighed and looked up from his books. "Oh my god, what the hell is even going on in this section" he whined.

"Oh come on it's not that bad" Somin argued, "Now quit being a baby and finish. We're almost done"

"Ugh, fine" Tae went back to his work but it all looked like gibberish to him.

He got bored and decided to do what he was best at, mess with his best friend.

"Somin"

"What now Tae"

"I'm bored"

"Too bad"

"Ok... Somin"

Somin sighed. "Yes Tae"

"Somin I'm hungry"

"Tae, this is your house. Help yourself"

"Somin" Taehyung persisted, "Somin make me food"

"Tae, do I look like your personal chef"

Taehyung thinks for a second then grins. "No, if I had a personal chef they'd be way better looking and no offence but I'd want a chef who knows how to cook"

"Why you little..." Somin gets up from her seat and chases after him.

"Get back here you piece of shiz, have you not looked at me once after years of friendship because last I checked I was drop dead gorgeous... And who the hell told you I can't cook because you know first hand that I'm amazing at it"

"By amazing you mean at burning the food but still having it raw on the inside right?" Tae retorts.

This was all Somin needed to gain the speed to catch up to him, tackling him to the ground. They erupt in a fit of giggles on the grass of Taehyung's backyard.

"Next time you insult my cooking skills or my damn fine looks, you'll get a whole lot worse then simply being chased and tackled to the ground" Somin warns Tae.

Taehyung gulps nervously but as soon as he looks into Somin's eyes and see the serious look on her face and how it's withering every passing second he can't help but laugh at her.

Somin can't stay mad at him for long and soon joins the fit of giggles Taehyung is having.

"What are you even laughing at?" She manages to breathe out between chuckles erupting from her throat.

Taehyung takes a second to catch his breath, "I'm sorry, but seeing you try to stay mad at me is the funniest thing ever. The way you pout your lips and furrow your eyebrows"

"Your such a dork" Somin states.

"Indeed I am" Taehyung smiled back.

The two friends were huddled up together on the couch watching 'Love Simon'. Taehyung had suggested it and Somin, not knowing what it was about, agreed to it.

Martin revealed Simon's biggest secret. His secret being that he was gay. His friends didn't take the news lightly due to Simon's questionable actions while he was being blackmailed by Martin but eventually they came around.

He was currently on the Ferris wheel waiting for Blue. Somin couldn't help but feel bad for the guy and even though she hated Martin was glad that he paid for Simon to get another round on the wheel.

Eventually Blue comes who turns out to be Bram and while on the wheel they solidify their feelings for each other in a passionate kiss to which Abby was most excited about.

"Awww" Somin hears Taehyung say next to her. The brunette looks at him and it takes him a second to notice.

"What? Are you upset that Bram's gay so you can't have him?" the raven haired boy teases.

"No, it's not that" the brunette sighs, "Besides I've got Matthew"

"Then what is it? It better not be because they're gay."

"I don't know." Somin states. Her hands lift up instinctively to fiddle with her loose brown waves of hair. A habit she's grown quite fondly to when she felt uncomfortable, awkward, stressed or an emotion along those lines. Then almost at a whisper she continues, "Maybe a little bit because of that."

Tae looks down at blanket they were wrapped in, fiddling with the warm, soft fabric. He knew exactly why his friend feels this way but he still hoped her opinion had changed. It was the whole reason he made her watch this movie in the first place. To show her that not all gays are the same.

"Min you got make peace with what happened. If not for anyone then at least for yourself."

"I know but it's not that easy"

"And I know that Min, but you need to accept that the world is changing and this stuff happens"

"I know Tae" Somin raised her voice. Not shouting but there was a definite change from her usual cute, bubbly voice he'd grown to love. This wasn't the time and he could tell by the way her deep brown eyes began to glisten.

"Min just please remember you will always have me to talk to and if not, Matthew doesn't look like he wants to leave your side anytime soon either."

"Thanks Tae"

The raven tried to lift the atmosphere as he knew what Somin was thinking about. It angered him too to this day but he needed to convince her otherwise about LGBT.

Firstly, for reasons he can't explain as to why it was so important but it's something he supports and he needed his friend to be as open minded as him.

Secondly, he didn't want her too be labelled a homophobe.

And lastly, he has noticed she hasn't been as care free for a while now and yearned for the old Somin he knows and loves to come back. The one that loved unconditionally and when she said she was okay, she meant it.

He needed her to come to terms with what happened and he figured the first step would be for her to accept and maybe even support LGBT.

"Well if you ask me, I thought the ending was adorable", Tae said then asked as he went to his movies, "What shall we watch next?"
